Preview: Destiny 2 (PC BETA)

It was a short three days but the PC beta from Destiny 2 has officially ended. And with that, developer Bungie has seemingly done the impossible, make PC gamers legitimately excited for Destiny 2. This isn’t to say PC gamers didn’t want to play the original Destiny, many did and still do. What I am saying is, bringing Destiny to PC was Bungie’s game to lose. Ever since Bungie made the original Halo they’ve more or less stayed away from developing, or even porting, games to PC. With that being said, the Destiny 2 PC beta was near perfect. Hit the jump to read on! Read On

TITANFALL – Hands-On Beta Impressions

TITANFALL – Hands-On Beta Impressions

im·pres·sion

noun \im-ˈpre-shən\

: the effect or influence that something or someone has on a person’s thoughts or feelings. … 2.C: an especially marked and often favorable influence or effect on feeling, sense, or mind.

We’ve had several teeth-jarringly intense hours to get our feet wet in Respawn‘s high-profile FPS-Hybrid Titanfall. And boy, are we impressed.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’re heard of Titanfall. Its origin story alone is news-worthy, the mass exodus of Jason West, Vince Zampella and other crucially important artists from Infinity Ward after Herr Kotick’s controversial MW2 “business decisions,” the founding of Respawn (and my word, what a thumbed nose THAT constitutes), and the amiable(?) departure of Mr. Ward. Then, finally, the long, tactical, and silent development of Titanfall under the controversial publisher-ship of the monolithic EA umbrella. In the interactive entertainment industry, that sort of story usually ends in tears, or worse still in a tragical farce like Duke Nukem Forever.

Somehow, against all odds and hope, Titanfall reeks of polish, potential and promise.

Windows 7 SP1 hits public beta

Windows 7 SP1 hits public beta

Highly unlike Microsoft of old, Windows 7 service pack one has been released to public beta ahead of schedule. The OS representing what Windows Vista should have been, has been relatively problem free for the most part and as such SP1 adds little to the finished package, save for bug fixes and patches. 1.2GB of patches to be precise. Whilst you can easily download and install SP1 beta, you’re unlikely to get much in the way of technical support, just like most other Microsoft betas. But if you know what you’re doing and can’t wait till the projected ‘early 2011’ release date then head on over to TechNet and get your SP1 on.

Free PS3 Battlefield: Bad Company 2 PS3 Beta Code [Closed]

So, here’s the deal. A couple of days ago on twitter, @EA gave away 50 beta codes for the US beta on the PS3 of Battlefield: Bad Company 2. I jumped on it and got one for my friend, but he wasn’t interested in it. Most of my other friends don’t use PS3, so I’ll give it out here. Following EA’s method, first to comment on this post gets it. :)
