This week is a very blu week, not in the sad way in the ray way!!! Yes this week marks 2 Pixar Movies hitting Blu Ray and just in time for the holidays. Don’t be down simply look UP…..okay bad joke. So Up is out along with Monster’s Inc. Also this week in terms of games we have Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. In the Movie Theater we have Pirate Radio with Chris O’Dowd aka Roy from IT Crowd. Don’t know how good the flick is but love IT Crowd!!! Anywho you see anything I missed drop a comment.
Hot damn the release list for this week is looking pretty good. I think this week I’m most pumped about Dragon Age Origins the game comes out Nov 2nd and looks just great. In terms of Blu Ray this week we have G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobras, don’t think I’m picking this up but it will be added to my Netflix. Oh and for the Movie Theater we have The Fourth Kind!!!! Overall a pretty solid Release List. Like before you see something I missed drop comment!!!
Wooot the week before Halloween and all through the house, all the creatures were stirring including this weeks release list? Dang, this week look nice, with a variety of stuff. Let’s start with the Blu Rays with some Battlestar Galactica: The Plan. As for the gaming scene there are 2 contenders with the first entry being DJ Hero which has Daft Punk on there hells yeah!!! Followed closely by Tekken 6. Just a heads up about the Wireless Fight Stick Bundle that Gamestop is selling, reports are coming in that the Fight Stick has Soldered Buttons which makes modding just a tad more difficult. It’s a new week with another Release List. This week seems to be slim pickings compared to previous lists. Though there are a few diamonds. Year One is finally out on both DVD and Blu Ray looking forward to watching David Cross (Tobias Funke). Also from Natsume comes the PS3 title Afrika seems like a more adult Pokemon: Snap. It’s time again to look at the Release List for this week. There are a couple of titles coming out. Katamari Forever makes its PS3 Debut, while Halo 3:ODST making it’s way to the 360. In terms of movies Bruce Willis is back with Surrogates, which looks pretty interesting. Follow that up with a nice Blu Ray release list including both Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead, should be interesting to see what the Price Tag will be on those now that the Best Buy Timed Exclusivity has warn off. Wow this weeks release list is huge. With Blu Rays topping the charts for releases followed closely with Video Games. With Naruto Shippuden Ninja Destiny 2 (click for review) and Scribblenauts dropping on the DS. Followed in high speed with the release Need for Speed Shift. If that doesn’t make you happy there is always the first season of Bonanza!!! Overall a pretty solid list for this week, like before if I missed something drop a comment or two??
Well coming back from a 3 Day Weekend is always just a bit difficult. Thankfully there is plenty of stuff to look forward to this week. The Release List does not disappoint especially in the amount of Blu Rays. Don’t forget the Apple Conference on September 9th. Along with the release of Beatles Rock Band. I’m still crossing my fingers for Beatles on Itunes but that’s just me. Like before if I miss anything drop a comment.
We’re in a recession, but that doesn’t mean someone out there doesn’t have money to burn, a desire to own every movie in the latest and greatest format and wants to have as many ‘on-demand’ as possible (without a Jeeves sitting at your BD player putting the discs in for you of course). So fear not dear readers, if you’re in the market for such a device, Sony has you covered. The Sony BDP-CX7000ES is a 400 disc Blu-Ray changer (yes that’s four hundred) that’ll play almost anything apart from SACD and supports Gracenote to tell you what all the discs are in the behemoth.
400 discs in one machine, does that make it 400 times better than your puny single disc player? Well in a word, no. But luckily for Sony, and for all you ‘money-to-burn’ buyers, Electronic House have reviewed the CX7000ES and found the performance of the player to be in line with Sony’s other ES players (read very good). With a 40 second start up to play time from cold (for a disc already in the changer) and the capability to store all your BDs (probably) without fear of mishandling all in one place, allowing Jeeves to get on with serving you drinks, the CX7000ES is an excellent entry into the BD multi-changer product category. This weeks release list is quite surprising. Especially considering that 2 Rad Super Manly Movies is finally hitting Blu Ray. If Gladiator wasn’t enough there’s Braveheart to back it up. Then follow that up with a great list of Video Games this week including Soul Calibur for PSP, which honestly I don’t really care about except that there’s Kratos as a playable character. Let us not forget that this week will also have yet another version of Guitar Hero. Which begs the question is there more Guitar Hero Games then Tony Hawk?? It should be getting pretty close. Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na BATMAN!!!! With this week’s release date list I would have to say Batman: Arkham Asylum is at the top of my chart. Already played through the demo on both PSN and Xbox Live now it just boils down to the decision of “What Console do I buy it for?” I’m kind leaning towards the PS3 because of the exclusive content but I’m a bit of an achievement whore so who knows.
