iPhone controls your car – James Bond eat your heart out

YouTube Preview Image

So probably everyone has seen the scene in Tomorrow Never Dies where James Bond controls his BMW with a touch pad on his Q branch Ericsson. Well the dream of controlling your car, racing around a parking lot, could soon become a reality all thanks to an iPhone app. iDriver allows you to control the ‘Spirit of Berlin’, a mini-van kitted out for autonomous and  remote control ‘drive-by-wire’. Needless to say it’s not the most pretty car in the world, but it’s impressive none the less.

World’s Smallest Car is no Windup

The brain behind the world’s lowest car, the Flatmobile, Briton Perry Watkins saw potential in an old Postman Pat kids coin-op ride he saw on eBay and set about turning it into what could easily be the worlds smallest road legal car. Taking the fibreglass body and reinforcing it with a steel frame, Watkins mounted the Patvan onto a modified 150cc mini quad bike chassis, added mirrors, windscreen wipers and washers, lights and indicators plus the obligatory boyracer faux racing exhaust pipes with a large fake wind up key at the back.

I’m not sure I’d want to drive this thing, it looks like a total death trap to me, but at 39ins high and 26ins wide Watkins is confident that the ‘Wind Up‘ is the smallest car in the world. Let’s just hope he doesn’t end up Postman Splat.

Zelda Car for Sale $500

zeldamobile

A 1978 Ford Fairmont is up for sale for $500.  Even for that small price, I doubt anyone would buy it.  I still appluad the artist who took the time to draw out the whole outside world map of the original Zelda game on the car.  But it is just way too tacky.

The original owner is selling it because she got a new Prius.  It only has 110k miles on it, which is really good for a car of that age.  If you’re interested (and I doubt you are), call up Kathy at 503-312-1024 if you’re in the Corvallis, Oregon area.

More photos of this car past the break.

SSC Ultimate Aero EV Electric SuperCar

Lambo-esque

Electric Heaven Electric Heaven
Starting with the Tesla Roadster we’ve been shown that electric cars don’t have to suck (cough *G-Wiz*) but that was just the start. Don’t get me wrong the Tesla is a fine machine that has great performance and I seriously want one but there’s a new contender on the block for electric lust.

Hit the read link for more on the new ‘electric pinup’ including some drool worthy shots. (more…)

Ford’s 2009 F-150 Campaign

ford

Ford’s new campaign is looking good.  First time I saw one of the commercials during a football game, my eyes were wide open.  Trying to take in every frame my eyes could without blinking. Then sadly, it was over. Now, being a geek, you know what I quickly did.

Yup! Pulled out the laptop, and quickly searched for the ads. But, to my amazement, there are none to be found yet on the net.  Can someone please link some for me in the comment section? Share with the class please. Thank you!

Until I get those links or find them myself, after the break here are some other typography videos to enjoy
