Review: Kingsman: The Golden Circle

Kingsman: The Golden Circle is the second film in the Kingsman franchise from director Matthew Vaughn, based on the comic of the same name by Mark Millar. This new adventure continues the life of Kingsman agent Galahad (Eggsy). This time the agents of Kingsman head to the United States to join forces with Statesman, Kingsman’s American counterpart, after Kingsman’s headquarters is destroyed by a ruthless crime syndicate called “The Golden Circle.” Just like the last movie, this one is also filled with heart, crude comedy, and great over-the-top action.

Review – Logan Lucky

By guest columnist Caleb Luther.

Logan Lucky is a film that I’ve been looking forward to for quite some time now. From the look of the trailers, it definitely seemed like some weird offspring of an early Coen Brothers film like Raising Arizona. As we all know, that’s not a bad thing.

So did it deliver on that idea? You bet it did.

Review: Magic Mike XXL

[Guest Writer: Sara Winchester]

It’s been three years since Magic Mike crawled across a movie theater screen and into your panties. Now after a long, hard wait the next chapter for the Kings of Tampa has come back to those screens today, in Magic Mike XXL.

When the first Magic Mike came out I admit that I was intrigued. Male strippers? Channing Tatum dancing in a g-string? Matthew McWhat’sHisFace in a tiny banana hammock? I was sold before the first trailer even hit.

What I thought I was going to see was a light hearted movie about strippers. For me, the original MM suffered from an identity crisis; I was never sure if it wanted to be a dark and artsy drama or if it was supposed to be the Showgirls for, well, girls. Luckily, Magic Mike XXL has definitely surpassed my admitedly low expectations for a sequel.

Review: Jupiter Ascending

Well, the Wachowskis are at it again. Their latest attempt at another science fiction odyssey is called Jupiter Ascending. They appear to still be riding on the coattails of their only hit, 1999’s The Matrix. Since then it feels like, about every three or four years, they come out of the shadows and try to recreate that one success and majorly fail at each turn. Ex: The other Matrix films, Speed Racer and Cloud Atlas. Each of those had its issues. Money-wise, critical flops, and even the audiences weren’t there in some cases. Well it’s sad to say that they have stayed true to form and once again made another mess of a movie.1401886372_jupiter-ascending-467 Read On

Review: 22 Jump Street

The boys of 21 Jump Street are back, bigger and better than before. Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill and the talented directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are all back and headed to 22 Jump Street. This time around our favorite undercover cops from the Jump Street program, Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) are off to college to look for a new drug causing some series issues on campus. Thus once again zany, raunchy humor ensues for all to enjoy.
