MMOs are good. PC games are good. Paying around fifteen bucks for them monthly is not.
No one likes to pay for a game and then pay even more to play it each month. So we’ve compiled a short list of five of our favorite free-to-play MMOs, so that you can save your money to spend on something more important.
Like more games.
After many months of waiting, Valve has officially released the second to last of the “Meet the Team” videos. “Meet the Medic” is one of the longest “Meet the Team” videos and has been creating a buzz all over the internet. And rightfully so, gamers have been waiting for this to drop since May 2009 when “Meet the Spy” came out.
Also, in this update Valve has made TF2 free to play, with tiered Free and Premium accounts. If you have “ever spent money on TF2, you have a premium account. This includes purchasing the game before it was Free-to-Play, activating a retail version of the game, or making a purchase in the Mann Co. in-game store.” It seems like this was hinted at with new free games showing up on Steam last week; this will help keep TF2 one of the most popular war-themed hat simulators since 2007. Yesterday was Free Comic Book day! Hundreds of comic book stores across the U.S. gave out free comic books to help fight illiteracy. I chose to check out Foundation’s Edge, a comic book store in Raleigh, NC.

The countdown on MekTek Studios’ website is counting down the hours to the release of the FULL MechWarrior 4 (plus all expansion packs) … FREE.

He also noted about the new franchise reboot coming as well:
“MechWarrior fans have been hoping, praying and anticipating a new game in the famed franchise ever since the last expansion pack for MechWarrior 4 was released in 2002. Now, seven years later, their prayers have been answered. IGN has the very first details about MechWarrior reboot that is currently in production at Smith and Tinker and Piranha games. Yes, that’s right, reboot. Instead of this game becoming MechWarrior 5, the developers have decided to completely re-launch the entire franchise, calling this new title MechWarrior.”
