Pixel Clicks Podcast #11 – Check this s*** out!

Hey you wonderful people, it’s time for the Pixel Clicks Podcast!

PCP is a gaming podcast in which Jordan, a gaming writer for Pixelated Geek, and his friends Cody, the ambassador of the PC master race, Shane, the one born of the good blood, and Sergio, the director and improve comedian, discuss the week in gaming news! Or at least try to.

This week the guys talk about new release Mortal Kombat X and the DLC controversy surrounding it, GTAV on PC breaking the record for most concurrent players for a non-Valve game, whether or not you should play Titan Souls, Guitar Hero Live being announced and if it can stand up against Rock Band 4, the trailer Star Wars Battlefront 3, and rumors for Mass Effect 4. It was a jam-packed week and the guys somehow manage not to dissect the new Star Wars and Batman v Superman trailers. Read On

[Game-play Impressions] Grand Theft Auto V

Let’s be honest: odds are, you’re going to play this game.  You probably either already have it or have schemes to obtain a copy.  It’s Grand Theft Auto – the franchise that put open world sandbox titles on the map.  I’m not going to bandy words or go into a long diatribe about the nuances of the narrative, the gritty comic-book stylings, or the phenomenal tech behind the game.  We’ll simply be providing sound-bite sized impressions of the title into a live-feed here over the first several hours of game-play.

So come on in and check out PG’s live impressions of GTA V!

New Grand Theft Auto V Screenshots

While Rockstar is known for the long gaps of time between information releases about their games today is a day where they have provided the lightest of Hors d’oeuvres for the fans. Two new screenshots were released today show casing some scenic shots of Los Santos, an region in San Andreas, which will the new home for players in Grand Theft Auto V. Another detail about the game is that it will have the “Crews” multiplayer feature that can also be found in Max Payne 3. While there is no release date announced yet Rockstar has said that this one will be “vast” so they are probably hard at work building the world for players to then wreck by driving cars on sidewalks.

Top 5 Games to look for at E3

E3 will soon be upon us and the interwebs will soon be flooded with information on every game, from a possible new Grand Theft Auto to Project Natal. Here is my top 5 games to look for at this years E3.
5)Infamous 2

Cool guys walk away, I mean, cause explosions

The first Infamous was one of my favorite titles of 2009. A beautiful looking open world with stellar graphics it got (deservedly) rave reviews. Even though lead character Cole McGrath talked like Clint Eastwood snarling, the game did not suffer for it. Throw in a crazy ending and you have all the ingredients for a stellar sequel.

Top 5 Reasons to Play Red Dead Redemption

Top 5 Reasons to Play Red Dead Redemption

Since midnight on May 18th I have been held captive by Red Dead Redemption.  It’s beautiful, engrossing, and just plain fun.  Here are my top five reasons why you should be playing it this instance.

5)It’s Huge

This game is absolutely humongous. Rockstar games has made some big games before, most recently in Grand Theft Auto 4 where they managed to recreate New York Liberty City in grand fashion.  This world is just as vibrant as any Rockstar has created in the past.  It is positively teeming with life, from animals darting across your path, to bandits trying to set you up by pretending to be in need of assistance.  There is even buried treasure to be found!

Who says Maps Can't be Cool

Apparently typing "men don't need directions" into google pulls up Mr. T

While roaring down the internet highway on my moped I ran into this map detailing the size of the actual game worlds in several prominent open world games, including Grand Theft Auto, World of Warcraft. Pretty neat. Also I want to continue this whole, “what are you playing thing”. Personally I am getting my butt whooped on the regular in Super Street Fighter 4 and in the Halo:Reach beta. Plus I am still ridiculously puppy kickingly excited about Red Dead Redemption. I’m going to have a posse. Boom Shakalaka baby.

5)Pedestrians

If there is one thing that Grand Theft Auto has taught me, it is pimping ain’t easy when you are on crack and trying to drive a car you shot with a rocket launcher. Oh and also that pedestrians love getting in the way. That seems to be their only goal in life. They are always doing stupid things like being on the sidewalk. The nerve. They practically beg to be mowed down. They should either be inside, or be in a car. Although I also tend to drive into those things as well. Maybe we just shouldn’t have other people. Then I would always win. Hmmmm

The Simpsons Game – Great for Co-Op

After 21 long years of entertaining us with what Wikipedia.org says, a “satirical parody of a working-class American lifestyle” on television. It wouldn’t take long for this American family to hit the next generation gaming systems with the same MOJO of comedy it has provided us in cartoons and return in a new video game ( Of course it released in 2007). Let me reintroduce you all to…. HOMER, MARGE, BART, LISA, and MAGGIE in

Why does this make for a good Co-op game? Why wouldn’t it…. everyone knows THE SIMPSONS (You better be saying “DO’H” right now).

Top Five Games to look for in 2010

The first quarter for this year might have been this best one ever. Huge triple A titles like Bayonetta, Mag, and Mass Effect 2 have already dropped. So with all the commotion at the start of the year it might feel like the rest of the year is going to be a bigger let down than Colonial Williamsburg (just kidding I love that place. Mock Trials people). So here are my top five games to get way to excited about this year. (honorable mentions go out to The Last Guardian, Gran Turismo 5, and Starcraft 2…..yea I know by the time the last two ever come out we will probably be riding around in those sweet recliners from Wall-E but a boy can dream right)
