Top 5 Games to look for at E3

E3 will soon be upon us and the interwebs will soon be flooded with information on every game, from a possible new Grand Theft Auto to Project Natal. Here is my top 5 games to look for at this years E3.
5)Infamous 2

Cool guys walk away, I mean, cause explosions

The first Infamous was one of my favorite titles of 2009. A beautiful looking open world with stellar graphics it got (deservedly) rave reviews. Even though lead character Cole McGrath talked like Clint Eastwood snarling, the game did not suffer for it. Throw in a crazy ending and you have all the ingredients for a stellar sequel.

Manic Monday

So the school year is winding down and I find myself stupidly busy. So I thought I would try something a little different.  I want to know what you readers are looking forward to/slash playing in May.  Personally I can’t wait for the Halo: Reach beta and Red Dead Redemption.  So let me know what you’re excited for.  I’d love to chat about it and I’m sure other people would as well.

Top 5 XBOX 360 Exclusives

Microsoft has certainly made a huge impact with this generation of gaming. Carrying ovwer the momentum from the original Xbox the Xbox 360 has been a huge succes with millions of gamers logging on to Xbox-Live every night to rain some fire upon fools heads. Here is my Top 5 list of 360 exclusives.
5)Left 4 Dead

I’ll admit I wasn’t that excited for Left 4 Dead when I first heard about it.  Maybe it was the hand holding up four fingers.  Thought it was cheesy.  But then the game dropped and blew everybody away with it’s well oiled mechanics and addictive team based missions. When my friends and I picked it up we litterally played through every campaign in one sitting. With great adrenaline pumping moments and wonderful gameplay Left 4 Dead was a welcome addition to the 360 family.

….. yea. I wasn’t impressed either. I guess we’ll have to wait for the longer version of this.

Halo Reach Live Action Short Goes Online Tomorrow

Tomorrow, Microsoft and Bungie will be releasing another Halo live action short based on the upcoming game, Halo Reach. I guess a short film for a video game as the heart of a marketing campaign works wonders on sales numbers. I’ll admit it that, even with all the bad reviews on Halo: ODST. I still bought it hoping to feel like I’m in that short film they made for it.

The short film, titled “Birth of a Spartan”, runs 60 seconds long and goes online tomorrow at 5:00am GMT (tonight at 10pm PST for you US west coasters).

The short will be available on www.welcometonobleteam.com on Tuesday, April 27 at 5.00 am GMT. In addition to being able to view the short, users can also upload a photo of themselves and get an image created of them as a Spartan III. On the following day a special, extended two minute 30 second version will be available for download on Xbox LIVE exclusively for Gold members. The ad short will also premiere on April 28 in cinemas across North America in select theaters with screenings through the opening weekend of “Iron Man 2″ and concludes on May 13.

For the full press release, go past the break.

Bungie Aggregates Info on the Halo:Reach Multiplayer

Bungie‘s Weekly Update sheds some light on the gritty details of how Reach‘s Multiplayer will distinguish itself from the previous titles. And let me say, its looks pretty freakin’ sweet.

Oh, to be able to emanate sexy blue flashy things

Succinctly put, Elites are seriously overpowered, Spartans get cloaking ability, there’s a seriously sweet EMP power that leaves you invincibly immobile, and shiny, sweet, sexy new guns. Oh, sexy sweet shiny guns. Nothing like you. In the world. Or other ones.

But maybe most importantly, there’s a fascinating discussion on the subtle nuances of shield mechanics have evolved, and is sure to spark wave after wave of ‘Oh noes!’ ‘Oh Yes!’commentary.

Leaked Halo Reach Beta trailer – Updated

The leaked trailer shown below details a lot of new stuff that may be included in Halo Reach. Since this is not an official video from Bungie, we can’t say for sure that it is legit. If it is real, adding things like jetpacks, load-outs, assassinations, and new game modes does make the newest Halo game far more appealing to me.

Top Five Games to look for in 2010

The first quarter for this year might have been this best one ever. Huge triple A titles like Bayonetta, Mag, and Mass Effect 2 have already dropped. So with all the commotion at the start of the year it might feel like the rest of the year is going to be a bigger let down than Colonial Williamsburg (just kidding I love that place. Mock Trials people). So here are my top five games to get way to excited about this year. (honorable mentions go out to The Last Guardian, Gran Turismo 5, and Starcraft 2…..yea I know by the time the last two ever come out we will probably be riding around in those sweet recliners from Wall-E but a boy can dream right)
