Huge Update for the Nintendo 3DS this Holiday Season

Although the high price of the Nintendo 3DS deterred many potential customers at first, the company seems determined to really give the customers what they want. In addition to the somewhat recent price drop, Nintendo is also releasing a whole slew of new games and features that will “make Nintendo 3DS a smart gift option this holiday season,” said Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime.

As a precursor to their exciting system update, Nintendo has released a new 3D animation available for download from the eShop, and will “soon” (though no exact date has been set) begin to deliver 3D music videos. These new 3D videos seem to simply be gearing fans up for the end of November, when Nintendo’s big update will hit.

So what’s the next big thing for the Nintendo 3DS? Read On

Hulu on the iDevices? Suck it Cable Companies!

Hulu on the iDevices? Suck it Cable Companies!

After rumors a few months ago about a preuium Hulu service,  all was quiet for a while.  Today Hulu announced their new service dubbed Hulu Plus.  For the small price of $9.99 you can watch :

. . . all nine seasons of The X-Files. All three seasons of Arrested Development. Ten seasons of Law and Order: SVU. All five seasons of Ally McBeal. Seven seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and three seasons of Roswell. Every episode ever of Grey’s Anatomy and Desperate Housewives. Classic skits from the first five and most recent five seasons of Saturday Night Live. The list goes on. This is all on top of hundreds of shows already on today. It’s a treasure chest in the cloud for TV lovers.

I also discovered that they have a few episodes of my favorite late night TV show, MST3K.   Now one major thing that sets Hulu Plus away from Netflix is that the premium Hulu service will STILL have ads with the video, so your subscription doesn’t get you anything more than mobile access.

Hulu Plus will be fully available for all iDevices, PCs, Some Samsung Blu-Ray players and eventually the PS3 and the 360.  You can request an invite for Hulu Plus here.

New Hulu Commercial – The Leary Mission

I’m really liking this Hulu Alien campaign by Crispin Porter + Bogusky. It’s both cute and engaging.  Every time a new on comes on, I have to stop what I’m doing (which is usually nowadays, blogging, chatting or playing sf4) and watch.  This new ad features Dennis Leary giving away “Hulu’s plot” of world domination by aliens at the beginning of the ad. Unlike the previous 2 which gives the plot at the end. But, just like the ad implies, we are just too distracted by our lapity tapity boxes to notice whats going on.
