Street Fighter IV for iPhone went live last night at the GDC Capcom Fight Club in San Francisco and is in the App Store for all you budding pocket fighters. First impressions are, it’s a fantastic representation of Street Fighter IV on the iPhone, but playing it without buttons is a bit of a mission.
Check it out for yourselves [iTunes Link] for the not so little £5.99/$9.99.

That’s right, folks. The first two Final Fantasy games are now available for the iPhone (and iPod touch as well). Sure, we’ve had remakes of the games for the Game Boy Advance and PlayStation Portable, but iPhone gamers out there that didn’t bother with either system can now bask in glory that is Final Fantasy. Priced at $9 piece, the games come with the special dungeons that have been included since the GBA rereleases. So for all of you that have always wanted to see what all the rage is about or just want to go back and experience the games all over again, what are you waiting for?
Today we’ll be having a peek at a space station trading game similar to games such as Lemonade Tycoon and other fixed platform trading games. Kaloki Adventure from Ninja Bee, the folks behind some successful XBLA titles, is a deep space station management and trading game based around a young upstart of a protagonist.
Have you played EA’s ‘Monopoly Here and Now’ and thought, that’s not the Monopoly I remember? Well, EA have now released the original Monopoly for iPhone and iPod touch, so you can relive your childhood days as ruler of the London property market on the go.
Tower defence games are a thriving genera on the iPhone with many, many games, some good, some great and some just plain bad. Today were going to be taking a look at one of the better TD games, Star Defence from ngmoco.
Star Defence follows the usual tower defence premise: bad guys, aliens in this case, invade and it’s your job to stop them dead in their tracks. The stand out feature for Star Defence has to be it’s 3D rotating worlds that you fight on. Instead of a field arena, you get small planets on which the path of the enemy is fixed. This takes some getting used to at first, especially if you’re used to the classic kind of playing field provided by the excellent Fieldrunners, but it’s well worth the effort. The graphics provided in Star Defence are really quite good and look akin to the graphics provided by Command and Conquer Generals, allowing you to zoom right in on the action for close ups with the units which are all pretty well animated.
I’m a massive fan of the Command and Conquer series and have played every one of them since the initial iconic Command and Conquer. So I was pretty giddy when I heard the news that EA is bringing the Red Alert RTS universe to the iPhone with Command and Conquer Red Alert for iPhone and iPod touch. All the best bits of the franchise seem to be there, with combat between Allied and the Soviets taking centre stage. From what I can tell the mechanics of the RTS action on the small screen have been well worked out, including base building and R&D elements that help you upgrade your weaponry. But enough jabbering, we’ll get a review out to you as soon as possible, but in the mean time hit the jump for some tasty screenies.
Looks like Tap Tap Revenge has finally met its match. EA Mobile has hit the iPhone with their famous Rock Band franchise. Two major differences that I see iPhone Rock Band having over Tap Tap Revenge is the 4 player Bluetooth mode and access to more mainstream songs.
iPhone Rock Band will operate just like Tap Tap Revenge. But, just like in the regular Rock Band for consoles, you’ll be able to choose between the 4 main instruments, Guitar, Bass, Drums, Vocals. For Vocals, you’ll just be tapping along. Not singing into the built in iPhone mic. Maybe they’ll do that for a future version of the game?
I wonder what Tap Tap Revenge can do to compete with EA and Harmonix’s music tapping genre game. We’ll just have to wait and see.
Well it’s here!!!! Yes I don’t know about everyone else but I’ve been waiting for this game for quite some time. Magic Drop is one of the best Puzzle Games I’ve ever played back in the days of the old Neo Geo Arcade Cabinet. It lends itself to be a more fast pace Puzzle Game that on occasion tests your reflexes!!! If you never played Magic Drop I would take it for a test run. Currently running for $2.99 on the Itunes App Store.
Today we’ll be looking at the recently updated Flight Control for the iPhone. Firemint, a software house out of Melbourne, Australia that has been grabbing headlines via their Real Racing game (review coming soon) and it’s use of the power of the iPhone 3GS, originally found success on the platform with the addictive Flight Control. With a recent update, Flight Control now has multiple airports to play on and a peer-to-peer multiplayer, plus a fast forward button to get you through the first initial stages quickly once you’ve got the game mastered. Also built in are online, location aware, scoreboards courtesy of CloudCell, which you can use to see how you stack up globally or locally within several miles. Flight Control also has direct access to social sites like Twitter allowing you to tweet directly from the app when you next beat that top score of yours.
