Preview and Review – Transformers Lost Light #9

Last issue (spoilers!) (no seriously if you haven’t read last issue quit reading!) we found out exactly how obsessed Nautica is with bringing Skids back: she’s been hiding his brain-module behind her eye patch. Inside her head. She was keeping his dead brain inside her head. It’s a gesture of extreme devotion and oh my lord is it creepy. I mean it makes wearing a vial of your lovers blood around your neck look reasonable and understated in comparison.

As creepy as it is, it’s still not as far as Nautica’s willing to go.  See below for preview pages and a review of Lost Light #9.

Review – Transformers Till All Are One #12

This is it, the final issue of Till All Are One. (Until the Annual anyway.) I wanted something that would be a satisfying ending, but still leave us with more story to be told. I think we got it, but I’m really curious to see what everybody else thinks. Read on for preview pages and the (spoiler free!) (mostly!) review of Till All Are One #12.

Review – Transformers: Till All Are One #11

Everybody’s messing around inside everybody’s head this issue, whether it’s an evil consciousness taking over someone’s brain, false memories being implanted all over the place, or….whatever the heck Bumblebee is.

Review – Transformers: Till All Are One #10

In the latest issue Starscream shows his true colors like we knew he always would but it’s okay because he’s also flirting with someone. Does that make me shallow? Don’t care, bring on the innuendo!

Ahem. See below for preview pages and a review of Transformers: Till All Are One #10.

Review – Transformers: Lost Light #4

Rodimus’ crew is marooned in a parallel universe where the bad guys are still in control and about to destroy anybody who isn’t “useful.” In the regular universe the “lucky” folks are just getting their feelings eviscerated, if they’re not getting literally eviscerated. So, a typical Wednesday then?

Review – Transformers Till All Are One #7

When we last saw everybody, an army of undead Titans was destroying Cybertron and Starscream had swallowed his pride enough to ask Elita One for help. And she refused. You’d have expected Starscream to suggest doing something sneaky and unethical at this point, but it was Windblade who volunteered to sneak behind Elita’s back, to interface with the Titan Carcer and convince him to help. This issue we get to see how successful (?) that plan was. See below for a quick look at Transformers: Till All Are One #7.

Review: Titans Return

“The planet reeks of concession. It’s time to wipe the slate clean. Tear down, so that we might rebuild.

Hot off the presses, it’s the latest IDW graphic novel, Transformers: Titans Return. A tyrannical leader from Cybertron’s past has returned from the dead, and he’s looking to make a few changes to the home world of the Transformers. Nothing too drastic, he’s just going to bring in an entire army of undead Metrotitans to kill everyone on the planet.

If you read Transformers on a regular basis then you’ll  already be familiar with the content here; it collects issues 56-57 of both the regular The Transformers title and More Than Meets The Eye, along with the Titans Return one-shot issueHowever, if you find it a little hard sometimes to follow the story from month to month across two titles (like I do), and you were thrown for a loop by scheduling problems that caused some of the chapters to be released out of sequence, this book puts the whole story together in its intended order.

Review and Preview – Transformers: Lost Light #1

It’s finally here, the series that picks up where More Than Meets the Eye left off. Lost Light hits shelves tomorrow, but does it live up to the legacy MTMTE left behind? Better question: is the story as goofy and badass and complex with all the feels? Does it have the same jaw-droppingly gorgeous art?

(Yeah, I’ve set the bar kind of high. What can I say, I’m a fan.)
