I am always delighted by very creative people and the amazing machinations that they are capable of creating. This short video is a one Sackboy’s adventure in Real Life. Everything about this video makes me want to go out to the crafts store and buy up everything in the place to make one grand Little Big Planet adventure. I’m going to need a choir to come with me though to memorize all that music too.
The new year is upon us, and that means we have a whole year to game before the Mayans return from outer space to harvest us for batteries to power their space dance parties. And what a year we have to look forward to! 2011 looks like it is going to have an impressive slate of games for us to devour. With that in mind, it is time to look ahead to what should be the best titles of the year. So here are my Top 5 Games of 2011.
5) Little Big Planet 2
Little Big Planet is fun on a disc. The original introduced us to Sackboy, undeniably one of the most identifiable mascots Sony has ever created. The game play was also no slouch, transporting us to a whimsical world full of fun challenges and colorful settings. Evil sumos and skeleton bridesmaids are just some of the fun characters you can find in Little Big Planet. Little Big Planet 2 looks like it is going to be even more fun making everything bigger and better than the original. Plus, I hear there are evil cupcakes. Now that is something I can relate to.
August is here and that means one last month of summer. So while we frantically try and cram everything we didn’t get around to doing this summer because we were too busy trying to beat Demon Souls, seriously that game hates you, we can look forward to the weather getting colder and the games getting bigger. With fall just around the bend I thought this would be a good time to look at the Top 5 Games of the Fall. So here we go!
5) Fable 3
It's good to be King
Peter Molyneux might run his mouth a little too much for some gamers. In fact a lot of gamers can’t stand the thought of him because of the promises he fails to deliver on. I like to think that his enthusiasm gets the better of him, and though he doesn’t always deliver on every promise he makes he still makes some really great games. Regardless, I played the first Fable over and over again, trying to find every silver key and open every demon door. In the second Fable I own every building I can possibly own. You should buy the castle, it’s awesome. However, Fable 2 was a little short for my liking, as I seemed to blaze through it in the time it would take me to get through a shooter. So naturally Fable 3 is a game that I am very excited about. Fable has an air of accessibility to it that many Role Playing games just don’t possess. I just hope the third one can continue the excellence of the series. And be a little longer.
Working at a Video Game Store one of the common questions I get from PS3 owners when helping them find a game (especially for the female customer) is, “Is there a Mario game for the PS3?” The answer is, “No, Mario is a licensed character for ONLY the Nintendo franchise but… the next best thing to Mario which you will only find on PS3 is Sackboy in
Little Big Planet is Joey and my new addiction for Co-op at this very moment. And if you and your significant other are as competitive as we are this game will satisfy your taste in being the top point winner for each individual level. What makes this an awesome game…. where do I even start ?
When the Playstation 3 debuted many people lamented its ridiculous price and the lack of games. Since then Sony has gone on to lower the price as well as give their audiance some amazing exclusives. Here are my top 5 Playstation 3 exlusives.
5)Little Big Planet
Sackboy will steal your girlfriend
Little Big Planet is the cutest game you will probably ever play. That might turn off some gamers. But this game is more than a bunch of cute pictures on a box (I’m looking at you Petz: Puppies night out). Little Big Planet offers a colorful engaging world that is near impossible to not enjoy. The game’s platforming elements are unique and the world in a shoebox effect brings about creative new level design. Plus it is one of those games that everyone seems to enjoy, and since it includes four player co-op everyone can enjoy it together. Now that Little Big Planet 2 has been unofficially announced we can look forward to more adventures with Sackboy and friends.
Today, Sony live demoed how two people could play Little Big Planet with the new PlaystationMove controller. One person would be a Sack person while the other uses the Move as a mouse pointer. In each level would be certain pink “hotspots” (hehe, yea, I giggled too) that the person with the Move can point to and interact with to help the Sack person continue through the level. Pretty cute idea in my opinion.
Valentines day. Some people look at it through rose colored lenses while others look at it as a corporate created holiday created for the glorification of greeting cards and candy bars. Regardless of how you feel you are going to be affected by it. Here is my list of the top 5 Valentine day gifts for gamers.
5) Make a Machinima Video for Them
Many games come with a built in Machinima mode where you can create your own pieces and out them online for all the world to see. A famous example of this would be Red Vs Blue. So instead of making another scene where someone with a ridiculous accent gets sniped by someone else with a ridiculous accent why not show your loved one you care. Or you could do one where the make fart noises. That is solid gold my friend.
