Valentines day. Some people look at it through rose colored lenses while others look at it as a corporate created holiday created for the glorification of greeting cards and candy bars. Regardless of how you feel you are going to be affected by it. Here is my list of the top 5 Valentine day gifts for gamers.

5) Make a Machinima Video for Them

Many games come with a built in Machinima mode where you can create your own pieces and out them online for all the world to see. A famous example of this would be Red Vs Blue. So instead of making another scene where someone with a ridiculous accent gets sniped by someone else with a ridiculous accent why not show your loved one you care. Or you could do one where the make fart noises. That is solid gold my friend.

I am admittedly NOT a WoW fan in the least, but this video was just too catchy to pass up. Anyone familiar with the 007 franchise will get what the creator was driving at here:

The machinima team over at the Sims team have recreated the latest Twilight: New Moon trailer using The Sims 3. For machinima I’ve seen around the net, this looks really good. I mean, the lead actress has more different facial expressions and better acting skills than Kristen Stewart. (boom. face.)

Last night, Rooster Teeth Productions, the group responsible for the smash internet hit Red vs. Blue has released the trailer for their next series in the Red vs. Blue saga. Titled Red vs. Blue: Recreation, the new series picks up a few months after the end of their previous series, Red vs. Blue: Reconstruction as well as the end of their most recent mini-series, Red vs. Blue: Relocated (there seems to be a trend when it comes to their subtitles).

While no official details about the series have been released, the trailer does a great job of cryptically teasing fans of the series with the inclusion of a couple of returning characters.

Red vs. Blue is an award winning Machinima series based on and filmed within the Halo universe. It’s funny, smart, and well-written and definitely worth the time.
