Mario is not only one of the most recognizable characters in video games, but in all of media. The poster boy of Nintendo has seen his fair share of spin off games, both good and bad. When you are an icon you are bound to have some things that cash in on your image alone. However, there are occasions where your spin off projects are just as awesome as the real thing, anyone remember Micheal Jackson’s Captain Eo at Disney?
Ebay is full of ridiculous things for collectors to buy. Video Game collectors are no stranger to the site, with rare games going for ridiculous sums of money. But rare cereal? Well someone thought this twenty one year old sealed cereal was worth some dough. The aforementioned cereal happens to be from when Nintendo briefly tested out the breakfast waters. It is actually two types of cereal, one being Mario and the other being Zelda. Some lucky (?) person was willing too lay down two hundred and seven dollars for it. Thats a pretty pricey breakfast. Would you pay that much to stare at your child hood memories? Let us know!
Batman has Robin, Sherlock had Watson, the Lone Ranger had Tonto, even Van Wilder had Taj. The point is we all need somebody to lean on. Or blame. So here are my top five sidekicks in gaming in this week’s “The List”.
5) The dog in Fable 2
Man's best friend.....or nightmare. It's a game of choices
Fable 2 is a huge open world game full of choices for our hero, or villain, to make. And weren’t those choices more fun with your trusty dog there? I was a huge fan of the helpful canine, he could sniff out treasure for crying out loud. That’s the most money you’ll make off of a dog that doesn’t have the ability to talk. He made the world seem a little less lonely. A worthy and useful companion for the adventure. Plus he helped out with picking up the ladies.
Who has been the most influential person in your life? A Parent? A Teacher? Ghandi? Han Solo? If you’re at this site, I’d say there’s a fair chance that a certain Italian plumber has helped shape you into the man or woman you are today. For most gamers, Mario was the gateway drug that lead to a lifetime addiction to video games. So get a box of tissues handy, and let this video take you down memory lane.
Just one question. Why no Super Mario Bros. 2 love? Someone’s holding a grudge against Birdo.
This vintage SNES game, Super Mario World, has been custom crafted and re-purposed into this terrifically geeky external hard drive enclosure! This price is for a 500 GB drive.
How do you get 99 lives in the New Super Mario Bros. Wii game? Just like you did in the old games. Find a green turtle walking down some stairs, and jump on him.
After watching the above video of these people showing off his skills on the New Super Mario Bros Wii, make sure to pick up your jaw as you might drag it on the floor.
Very funny song sung and animated to the tune of Dr. Mario. Watch the video above if you don’t mind getting a glimpse of Wario’s ass and Mario’s birthday suit.
