Star Wars hit theaters in 1977 and lines wrapped around theaters consistently, full of fans waiting for the chance to see a cinematic marvel… I wasn’t born yet. Ghostbusters debuted and quickly became a phenomenon in June of ’84… I wasn’t even 2 yet. And when Batman blew Bat-Fans minds in ’89 I was just a 7 year old little spookling… I never got to see it in theaters, until now.
Being born in the 80′s definitely seems to carry some sort of prestige, but unfortunately it means that many were too young to see the movies they now can quote at the drop of a hat. The experience of a theater full of excited movie goers is lost on them. That is unless they live in the Southern California area and follow NERDS LIKE US. A midnight movie series where die hard fans gather to see the movies they love in a way that some have never had the chance.
