Today I’m going to be introducing a new segment I want to try out on you guys called “Blast From the Past.” Original, I know. However, I feel like I need to dig into the geek time capsule and pull out some of these oldies but goodies. First up is a show I’ve loved since watching the movie made in 1988. It’s Alien Nation! And it’s awesome beyond words.

The Hunters Become the Hunted in the new “Predators”
Just the other week I was telling my husband how awesome it would be if there was a Predator movie where humans go to the Predator’s home planet and all hell breaks loose. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that my dream had come true! On July 7, 2010 a new chapter in the Predator saga will begin. The cast will feature Laurence Fishburne, Topher Grace, Adrian Brody, and Danny Trejo. With a screenplay by Robert Rodriquez I’m sure it won’t disappoint.
Christopher Nolan Talks About New Superman Film
Last month it was reported that Christopher Nolan was to serve as a mentor for the new Superman film set to be released in 2011. Since then we haven’t heard much, until now. Nolan sat down for an interview with the LA Times where he revealed a little bit more details about the new Superman movie as well as the third Batman film. More after the break.

The Office’s John Krasinski Top Candidate for Captain America
According to insiders at Marvel, John Krasinski is a lock to play Captain America in “The First Avenger: Captain America.” It’s been reported that he’s already read for the part four times and done two screen tests. According to the source, “He is a favorite among the key decision makers and has been asked to come back for more this week.” A lot of you may know Krasinski as Jim from The Office, but if he is chosen for Captain America he will for sure become a household name. The plan is to sign him on for a multi-film deal starting with “The First Avenger” set to be released on July 22, 2011.

Super Mario Bros. Retro Movie Review
When Hollywood decides to make a movie based on a video game I always get nervous. Their track record hasn’t been so good. Movies like Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Hitman and most other movies based on games, aren’t really classified as good movies. With the newest movie based on a game, Prince of Persia, coming out soon we’ve decided to dust off some of these old movies and give them another chance. Think of it as a sort of retro movie review. And what better way to start us off than the one that started it all, Super Mario Bros.

Zoolander 2 In The Works
Zoolander 2 is in the works! That’s right, Ben Stiller has been announced to return as Derek Zoolander in the long awaited sequel! Justin Theroux, the writer of Tropic Thunder and Iron Man 2, is said to co-write and direct. In negotiations is Jonah Hill who is reported to play the villain this time around. It is said they are hoping Owen Wilson returns but no deal has been set.
Nothing has been mentioned about Will Ferrell so it is likely Mugatu will not be appearing in the sequel. It is hard to believe that Owen Wilson won’t be returning because he and Ben Stiller are such good friends. One of the funniest parts in the original was the feud between Hansel (he’s so hot right now) and Zoolander. Even funnier is when they become friends and end up having an orgy together.
Zoolander is a hilarious movie and has countless one liners. Let’s see what new moves Derek Zoolander has in store for us this time around. Pixelatedgeek will keep you posted. Just remember, moisture is the essence of wetness, and wetness is the essence of beauty.

Superman/Batman Public Enemies Review
It is a dark time for our country. We are in a recession. People are struggling to survive. Rising crime rates, bank foreclosures and evictions are happening all around. Martial law has been enforced. Who will save us from these tough times? None other than Lex Luthor, newly elected President of the United States.
This is the beginning of Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, the sixth movie in the DC Universe Original Animated Movies. Fans will be happy to hear Kevin Conroy as Batman as well as Tim Daly as Superman and Clancy Brown as Lex Luthor. The voice acting by them is superb and one of the reasons is much of the voice over work was done with the actors in the same room so they can play off one another.
