WonderCon 2017 – An interview with cast and creators of Voltron: Legendary Defender

Netflix and DreamWorks Animation’s Voltron: Legendary Defender debuted at WonderCon 2016. A year later, with a third season already on the way later this year, the fan reaction has been incredible. We got to sit down with some of the cast and creators of the show at WonderCon 2017 and talked with them about what’s to come next season, what they liked best about last season, and what they think about Voltron cosplay. Review – The OA

Netflix’s newest supernatural drama “The OA” has jumped into our queues, and on a whim I called it up. And then blew through it way faster than I expected. And I honestly don’t know if I can recommend it or not.

(No spoilers, but I do talk around the edges of several scenes, so if you’d rather watch the show first and then head back here to tell me what you think, I’m totally okay with that.)

Binary System Podcast #55 – WTNV Episode #96 “Negotiations”

Things are a little tense in Night Vale right now. Mayor Cardinal has opened negotiations with Hiram McDaniel’s sister Hadassah, who’s acting as representative of The Five-Headed Dragon world. The Mayor wants Hiram to face the consequences of attempted assassination of a head of state; Hadassah wants Hiram extradited back to their own world for punishment (said punishment consists of getting a sticker that says “I Overthrew!”, since that’s how government works dontcha know).

So after we discussed dragons and destruction and strange spaceships that don’t seem to have a point, we also talked about Looper, Penny Dreadful, and Luke Cage. Ah, Luke Cage. We’re a little worried we might catch some flak for this one. Listen in to find out why.

Review: Stranger Things

(SPOILER FREE)

I just finished the Netflix original series Stranger Things. My insides are still shaking from the range of excitement this show delivers in so many different ways. There is a lot of crap on TV these days, but this is far from it. If you don’t have Netflix this show should be the reason you fork over the dough and get it. The creators of this series are Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer, twin brothers in their 30s who were turned down over a dozen times from various studios for this project. I am sure those studios are kicking themselves right now because this show delivers everything you want in a sci-fi thriller.
