Don’t know a thing about football? Invited to a party to watch The Big Game? Don’t worry, I’ll give you enough information here to carry on a conversation. Let’s face it, even people who never watch football tune in to watch The Big Game, even though we might only be interested in the commercials or halftime. (I’m talking to men and women here. Ditch the stereotypes!)

I grew up in the South, so I was born into a football loving culture. I think it might even be required by law to love the sport there. Red- 24! Red 24! Hut! Hut! Hike! (more on this later).

NFL 2010 coming to an iPhone near you

NFL_2010_iPhone_Screen_5Have you been craving some NFL action on the go but Field Goal Frenzy just wasn’t enough, then Gameloft might just have something up their sleeve for you. Coming soon to the App Store (unless Apple has some beef with it, you never know these days), NFL 2010 promises to be the first ‘full football simulation’ game on the App Store and will feature ‘full team rosters’ so you’ll have the option of playing with your fave NFL franchise. Slated to be available by the end of the month for an unknown price (likely to be around the $6 mark).

First public broadcast of a 3D Football game at CES

Recently, news came out about NFL’s first 3D broadcast to a closed audience. (For you gamers, it’s like a “closed beta.”) The game, between the Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers, will be filmed with special 3D cameras.

Now, news from engadget reports that the BCS Championship game will ALSO be filmed with 3D cameras and shown to the public at the upcoming CES. This is GREAT news since WE will be covering CES!
