Valentine’s Day: Our favorite literary couples

A dual post from Kathryn and Elizabeth

When talking about great couples from sci-fi and fantasy books, there are a lot of obvious ones:  Harry and Ginny, Westley and Buttercup, Drogo and Daenerys, Katniss and Peeta (or Gale), and Bella and Edward (or Jacob), to name a few.

We decided instead of listing all the famous ones, we’d talk about some of the other sci-fi and fantasy couples from our favorite books.

(Except that Kathryn just HAD to go and include Ron and Hermione. ~ Elizabeth)

(I regret nothing! ~ Kathryn)

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters is based on the Rick Riordan novel of the same name and the sequel to the 2010 film Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lighting Thief. The new movie, directed by Thor Freudenthal, continues the adventures of Percy Jackson, the son of Greek God Poseidon, who embarks on a journey with his friends to retrieve the Golden Fleece to save their training ground, Camp Half-Blood. They must find and then travel through the Sea of Monsters and face the horrible challenges that await.

Movie Issues: Percy Jackson: The Lighting Thief

This week we decided to watch Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief to prepare for next week’s sequel. It’s a decent fun adventure flick where a kid finds out he’s a Greek demigod accused of stealing Zeus’s ultimate weapon. He then, with his group of friends, set off on a adventure to prove his innocence and save the day.

We also discuss why it’s always crap movies  released in August. Might this year be different? And we get really dirty when talking about Gilligan’s Island. So you know, business as usually for Leland and Spooky.
