Leaked Halo Reach Beta trailer – Updated

Leaked Halo Reach Beta trailer – Updated

The leaked trailer shown below details a lot of new stuff that may be included in Halo Reach. Since this is not an official video from Bungie, we can’t say for sure that it is legit. If it is real, adding things like jetpacks, load-outs, assassinations, and new game modes does make the newest Halo game far more appealing to me.

Activison removes studio heads from Infinity Ward

Activison removes studio heads from Infinity Ward

G4tv.com’s Patrick Klepek is reporting that a “tense” situation is brewing at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 developer Infinity Ward. Infinity Ward studio heads Vince Zampella and Jason West reportedly met with Activision yesterday morning and have not been seen by Infinity Ward staff members since. Based on some information that has been surfacing throughout the night, it appears both men have been let go from the company.

A screen shot surfaced from Infinity Ward CTO Jason West’s Facebook page at Kotaku with the status update “Jason West is drinking. Also, unemployed.” I can confirm from a source that’s friends with West that update did actually come from West’s account. West also updated his Linkedin profile to appears to reflect a change in employment.

“President/Game Director/CCO/CTO Infinity Ward
January 2001 – March 2010 (9 years 3 months)”

Some new characters in Super Street Fighter 4 might be from Street Fighter 3 [Rumor]

We have just heard from a reliable source that some of the unrevealed characters that will be in Super Street Fighter 4 are actually characters from Street Fighter 3. Even though Capcom has been very tight lipped about the other 8 new characters in the game, we will try and find out which ones as soon as we can. Anyone care to take any guesses? There was this one photo of Dudley VS Balrog from Justin Wong’s blog. Could this match up really be true? Or is it just a really good photoshop job of a wishful fan?

We’ll just have to wait and see.

After Twitter Rejects Google, Might Get Bought By Apple

So who gets to take Twitter to the buy-out prom?

It looks like ever since Twitter gave a no to Google, Apple has been trying to catch that rebound. TechCrunch reports, “Apple is in late stage negotiations to buy Twitter and is hoping to announce it at WWDC in June,” said a normally reliable source this evening, adding that the purchase price would be $700 million in cash.

Twitter, being the bad-asses they are, suggests that they aren’t even interested in selling. And in all honesty, that probably makes the big shot companies want that sweet tweet all that much more.

Keep playing hard to get, Twitter, – you sly fox, you.

Windows 7 RC 5th May?

Windows 7 RC 5th of May?

Windows 7 RC 5th of May?

Rumours flying around the grapevine indicate that Windows 7 RC (final or final few beta releases before RTM, or print I guess) will be out to TechNet and MSDN (bittorrent?) any minute now and that the public release will follow on the 5th May.  This might have been a gaff by Microsoft as the page as you see it above now lacks menition of any Windows 7 RC, someone jumped the gun? Still it does mean that we’re getting close. Anyone who’s familiar with Windows 7 will be waiting with bated breath for the RC, as many people are already rocking some of the late betas, myself included. The RC is also rumoured to be include a significant UI change, which may or may not come about. Must admit I’m not sure what else they’d likely do at this late stage in the testing process, even with forked builds, but I’m liking what I’m seeing and using now. So keep you’re eyes peeled on your favourite source for the new and possible last build of Windows 7 before the RTM.

Which Nick Fury do you preffer?

With the a new Nick Fury movie slated for production and rumors of Samuel L. Jackson to play the lead I brought my self to wonder “who do I like better as Nick Fury?” Now don’t get me wrong. I love Sam Jackson. The guy is incredible and I’m sure that he’d do a great job. My heart though, tells me to go with The Hoff in any situation regardless of what the role might be.

Besides, I heard that Marvel is low balling that shit out of Mr. Jackson anyway and that his casting may not even be a reality. So I want to know who you would preffer as Nick Fury.

W00t! Paramount Pictures released the robots and their names for Transformers 2!

AUTOBOTS

Optimus Prime: The Autobots’ leader – alternate form: Peterbilt truck.
Ironhide: Weapons specialist – GMC Topkick.
Ratchet: Medic – Hummer H2.
Bumblebee: Friend and mode of transportation for Sam Witwicky – 2010 Chevorlet Camaro.
Arcee: A female Autobot – Megan Fox’s hot-pink motorcycle.
Jetfire: A fighter plane crash-landed on Earth a long time ago, and he will become a reformed Decepticon now fighting for the humans. His alternate form is the SR-71 Blackbird, a sleek Cold War spy plane. “He’s old, craggy, forgetful … doesn’t work very well. Can’t transform very well, because he’s very geriatric. They get stuck with him a lot,” Bay says. “He knows the plan of the bad guys, but he forgets all the good parts of the plan.”
Sideswipe: A candy-apple red Lamborghini in the original, joins the cast this time as General Motor’s silver Corvette Stingray concept car.
Jolt: the original toy was a Decepticon, but in the movie he’s a good guy – Chevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid.
Skid & Mudflap: a.k.a. “The Twins” – Chevrolet Beat and Trax concept cars. “Some of the junior Transformers are just dumb,” Bay says with a laugh. “But it’s great for kids because they’re like the Little Engine That Could. They’re (screw)-ups, but they get really heroic at the end.”

Decepticons

Starscream: Formerly Megatron’s second in command, he escaped at the end of the first movie; F-22 Raptor jet.
Scorponok: The mechanical scorpion that attacked the American troops in the desert.
The Fallen: An ancient robot, sort of the Transformers’ version of Lucifer. He’s one of the original robot aliens, and his defiance and arrogance led to his banishment into another dimension. The screenwriters call him “the most elemental bad guy” and say that The Fallen holds the key to life on both Earth and Cybertron, the Transformers’ home planet.

Sideways: The Audi R8 seen crashing through a building in the trailer.
Soundwave: A cassette player in the original toys. An evil communications expert but this time in the form of an orbiting space satellite.
Ravage: The ultimate spy. A four-legged, cat-like robot. Ravage doesn’t turn into anything. “In the spirit of ‘more than meets the eye,’ Ravage isn’t just lethal because of his sharp teeth,” says screenwriter Alex Kurtzman. “There’s actually another skill set Ravage has that didn’t exist before, so there’s going to be a surprise for fans.” He doesn’t talk like the other Transformers.

The Doctor: A spider-like droid that transforms into various implements of torture.
Wheelie: A small, radio-controlled truck.
Demolisher: One of the Constructicons that transform into construction vehicles.
Devastator: A giant robot formed by the Constructicons joining together; individually, they are: Scavenger, Scrapper, Hightower, Longhaul, Rampage, Overload and Mixmaster. “He’s made of vehicles designed to build, and he turns into is someone who loves to destroy,” Orci says. “He is an agent of absolute chaos.” Michael Bay says that when Steven Spielberg saw Devastator, he said “This is (expletive) awesome!’ ” Bay says,  “It’s always nice when you can make him swear.”
Megatron: (unannounced)

Rumor: New Mac Mini at Macworld 2009

Finally.  The little cube that could might be getting an Upgrade.  Rumors coming from Wired says that it’ll come with 2 gigs of RAM, 160 GB Hard drive, 2.0 ghz Core-Duo processor, and a Intel GMA X3100 graphics car.  All for the low, low price of $500.  $700 for one thats a bit faster.  I don’t know much people with a Mac Mini.  For $500, I think a new PC would do fine, or find some way to hack Leopard into a good PC for that price.  Unless the Mac Mini’s upgrade makes it look as sexy as its bigger brother, the iMac, then I would consider buying it.  Cause we all buy Apple products for the looks, right?
