The hottest cosplayer at Comic-Con 2009 is Jessica Nigri [Update x2]

Posted by: |

Wow this post is old. Want more recent cosplay pics? Head here!

Jessica Nigri dressed as a very sexy and very hot rendtion of a Pikachu in a yellow mini skirt at the San Diego Comic-Con 2009.  I’ll just leave you with a quote from a redditor.

“She turned my magikarp into a gyarados.” – bigwangbowski

More photos after the break.

Update: So, apparently people found her Facebook page.  I’ll admit, I’m one of the many guys that went there, but for good intentions.  Just wanted to tell her about this post.  She replied with a “Thank you.”  But when I tried to replied back, I noticed her profile is gone.  I guess either she deleted it or locked it down so no one can find it.  I guess that’s what happens when you wear this to a nerd convention. Oh, btw, I added 5 more pics that have surfaced on the nets. Enjoy ;)

Update 2: MOAR photos at the bottom.

Comic-Con Figurines

Of course comics, costumes and cosplayers aren’t the only interesting things to stare at at Comic-Con.  The toys that were on display were cool too.  Check out the photos that our old friend, Jay, took while at the convention.

"The Sisters" by Jhonen Vasquez print from Comic Con ’09

Posted by: |

Hello, I’m Dex. This is my first article for the site, and its great timing that I get to write an article post San Diego Comic Con, giving me tons of fodder.

Over the past few years, I’ve been recently interested in buying and picking up prints exclusive to conventions and meeting the artists who create them. Much to my surprise, one of my favorite artists Jhonen Vasquez (creator of Invader Zim, Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, etc) was at the Bioshock 2 with a print inspired by the game. Jhonen was there to sign the limited prints, and even better, it was free.
The Sisters by Jhonen Vasquez

For fans of the Bioshock series, it is amazing. Even if you aren’t a fan of the series, it still is quite a piece, especially for those (like me) who are fans of Jhonen’s work and/or darker work in general. For those interested in the production of “The Sisters,” Jhonen put up a comprehensive blog about creating the print on the official Bioshock 2 website under The Cult of Rapture.

“The Sisters” is the first piece in the Bioshock 2 Artists Series, artwork by famous artists inspired by the Bioshock series.

Comic-Con – Cosplay – Day 4

Posted by: |

Day 4 of Comic Con is Kids day.  There wasn’t that much cosplaying or costumes walking around this day.  MAke sense since not much was going on.  It’s pretty much the day when all vendors are selling their left over stuff for an even cheaper discount because they want as less stuff to carry back to their trucks.

I asked this guy what he thought about 2012. His response was "not gonna happen."

Hands-On: South Park Lets Go Tower Defense

Posted by: |

This game will be a definite buy for me once it comes out September 7th on Xbox Live Arcade.  Here are some notes I picked up while talking to the hired booth guy.

Stuff under the “DUH” notes

  • It’s a tower defense game
  • Up to 4 players
  • Coming out for Xbox Live
  • Check out for more info

More specific stuff

  • Instead of using a mouse cursor to plant your towers, you choose one of the 4 kids (Stan, Kyle, Kenny, Cartman) as your cursor.
  • You move your kid to where you want to plant you tower.  Press a button to bring up the tower chooser, then press left or right to look at the different towers.
  • Once an enemy is killed, they drop coins.
  • You don’t automatically earn money every time you kill something.  You need to pick up the coins before they disappear.
  • It plays on a custom storyline.
  • More than 100 new lines have been voice recorded just for the game.
  • Some unlockables include old clips form the show.
  • Each kid has their own super move.
  • If playing with less than 4 players, you can switch between kids at anytime.
  • Kids that aren’t being used, turn into simple snowball throwing towers.
  • Kids can throw snowballs at anytime to help the towers.
  • Like MegaMan, you can charge up your snowball for a 1-hit-1-kill.

Comic-Con – Family Guy Panel Highlights

Posted by: |

The crew really loves each other.  I mean REALLY loves each other.

Other news from the panel was that an abortion episode was made but not allowed to go on air.  The episode will be available on a future DVD though.  The Cleveland Show is coming.  It doesn’t seem as good as Family Guy.  Both Jamie and I don’t think the show will do well but would like to be proven wrong.

But the biggest news was that Family Guy was going to continue their Star Wars spoof.  Next up, an Empire strikes back spoof. Go past the break to see a 3 minute and 25 second preview.
