SDCC 2017 – Photo Gallery #5 – Geeky Collectibles

Every year one of my favorite things is seeing all the new amazing collectibles that many toy companies and collectibles shops create. Here is a small gallery of some of the best and favorite things that were seen at this year Comic Con 2017. Enjoy some of the great works from: Sideshow, Gentle Giants, Q-Pop, Mezco, Diamond, Weta Workshop, DC Direct, Funko, Hasbro, Mattel, Tweeterhead and so many others I can’t even name. There are now so many companies getting into the collectibles market showing off their amazing art for all to see and collect. Read On

Binary System Podcast #90 – Better Late Than Flat On the Ground Passed Out in a Post-Comic-Con Coma

It’s the San Diego Comic-Con 2017 wrap up! And we’re TIRED.

Join the twins and Official Binary System Photographer Captain Slack (otherwise known as Kathryn’s husband Nathan) as we kick back the Sunday night after Comic-Con, a little goofy from sensory overload and possible some saké, and discuss the cosplay, the celebrity (sort of) sightings, the events we saw, the stuff we bought, and the crowds we survived.

For the continuing galleries, articles, and interviews from SDCC 2017, keep an eye out here and on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram!

SDCC 2017 – Photo Gallery #3 – Nathan Adams

Another one of our favorite photographers returned to San Diego this year: Nathan Adams was there all weekend getting photos of Comic-Con cosplay and more. Today’s gallery is the first of several from him (he took over the pixelatedgeek instagram feed for the weekend and blew the roof off the place) and check out his own instagram feed at capn_slack for even more of his photography!

Another San Diego Comic-Con has come and gone, and now the only thing left to do is find the best spot on the shelf for our new purchases, and sort through a metric ton of awesome photos.

Our first gallery features photos by friends of pixelatedgeek.com who went far and wide to see all the things Comic-Con has to offer in the convention center, the Gaslamp, and beyond. See below for photos from Margo Franks, Craig Morreale, Marsi Bowers, Rich Kuhaupt, Elizabeth Schoenthal, Kaley Huber, Natasha Bowman, Rob Bowman, Arron Bowman, Anthony Tarantino, Verónica Gutiérrez García, Shelly Petersen, and Jerry McCormick!

Binary System Podcast #89 – Night Vale Bonus tracks, and San Diego Comic-Con!

This week Welcome to Night Vale demonstrated once again that they don’t understand the meaning of the word “hiatus” because they gave us both an excerpt from the upcoming Night Vale book It Devours, AND a teaser for the new “Conversations With People Who Hate Me” podcast. This brings up one of the few times that the twins come down on opposite sides of an issue, because Kathryn likes to read the comment threads of news articles to find the rare moments of intelligent discussion and well-worded viewpoints, and Elizabeth doesn’t because she thinks they’re cesspits of humanity.

After that they nerd out about Saga for a bit (the cover to issue 44 is all kinds of neat) and then spell out their plans for this year’s San Diego Comic-Con! They’ll both be there, along with Official Binary System Photographer Captain Slack (otherwise known as Kathryn’s husband Nathan) to do some interviews, take a pile of photos, and report back on Nerd Mecca. Keep an eye out here and on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram!
