DC Rebirth: Sept 7th – Super Cyborgs, Superman’s Best Friend, Secret Identities Revealed and more

I’m actually surprised by now that a Blue Lantern Ring hasn’t found me, as each week I sit down to read the DC Rebirth and I HOPE. Specifically, I hope it continues to be awesome – and so far each week I’ve been surprised that it is. What I’ve been enjoying the most is reading books that normally wouldn’t be on my Pull List.

This week is no different as we see characters return, identities revealed, and deep questions arise about our heroes.

This week in DC Rebirth – Deadshot Batman Team Up, Zombies and a Kryptonian Werewolf?

It’s nice to be reading DC Comics again, and with Rebirth in full swing there have been plenty of choice titles to choose from. After watching the Suicide Squad movie my interest is peaked for some sub characters, in particular Deadshot, Katana, Rick Flag, and let’s not forget, Enchantress.

TriPod! 5.26.2015 – Leaks!

Welcome to TriPod! – the weekly video podcast featuring the latest news in geek culture and the last word in real-talk analysis of geek trends.

TriPod!, hosted by long-time Pixelated Geek sass-master and afficianado of all-things-geek James Huneycutt, the ineffable Johnathan Crass – whose Fu-Manchu is as impressive as his categorical knowledge of indie-gaming – and the ceaselessly cranky but inarguably analytically accurate Taylor Tate, is a weekly video podcast featuring the latest news in geek culture and the last word in real-talk analysis of geek trends.

Pixelated Geek Presents TriPod! Season One Episode 9 – 5.26.2015.

This week TriPod! covers the circus surrounding the leaks of the Supergirl pilot and Star Citizen assets.

This is our most important episode to date. We are very, very serious about the content contained within, and we would be very interested in feedback on the points we make.

Comic Issues #223 – Thor Reveals the Converging War

After some technical difficulty Anthony and Elizabeth take a second shot this week at bringing to you the biggest of last weeks comics and the what’s been happening on the internet with CBS’s Supergirl series.

First up the Supergirl trailer hit the inter-tubes last week to both excitement and disappointment.  The 6 minute “First Look” has people damning the Greg Berlanti (Flash, Arrow) show for its first 3 minutes playing the paint by numbers game that every formulaic romantic comedy follows.  From carrying her bosses coffee with an unassuming ponytail, to a co-worker awkwardly asking her on a date fans seemed mostly angry, but your podcast heroes are here to explain why you should be excited.

Also this week, Convergence #7 shows signs of improvement after 7 previous issues of boring, Secret Wars #2 sinks its teeth deeper into your podcasting heroes, and the secret identity of the new Thor is finally revealed in Thor #8 (we were almost right!).

Comic Issues #213: Kickass Women in Comics

Women have been given the short end of the stick when it comes to characters and storylines when it comes to comic books, but in recent times publishers have made leaps and bounds to make it right.  This week Anthony returns, and now in the new Pod-Cave he and Elizabeth look at 4 new books from Marvel starring solo ladies and find themselves very impressed.  Together they discuss Marvel’s Princess Leia #1, Spider-Gwen #1, Spider-Woman #5, Silk #1 and All-New Hawkeye #1 just to shake things up.  Also upfront impressions of CBS’s Supergirl costume are discussed and the happy coincidence that they recorded on International Women’s Day.

Listen in and good geekin!
