Movie Issues: Assassins

This week the guys wanted to go down the road of a favorite stand by: Stallone! S0 they went with the 1995 action “thriller” Assassins. Where Stallone is a top assassin who ends up protecting his latest mark, Julianna Moore, from crazy newcomer to the assassin world, Antonio Banderas, who stop at nothing to kill both of them. Thus leads them on one of the most painfully boring action movie ever made. A movie so slow that Sly is barely awake to say his lines. This was a struggle. Also the guys talk shop of the new movies coming out and whatnot. Pretty much a normal day over at Movie Issues HQ. Please download and enjoy.  Read On

Movie Issues: Grudge Match

In the new sports comedy movie, Grudge Match, staring Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone as aging boxers who step back into the ring for one last bout 30 years after their last match. Directed by Peter Segal (Get Smart, 50 First Dates), takes these two acting icons that previously have had successful boxing films, and pokes fun at their success with those movies with respect and humor. What could have been a mess of a movie ended up being a fun movie that fathers and sons can enjoy.

Movie Issues: Escape Plan

Remember when you wanted the most famous action stars in the world to star in a movie together, then it finally happened, and it was just ok? Well, here’s another example of a “just ok” movie staring the world’s favorite aging action stars: Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger in Escape Plan. We follow Ray Breslin (Stallone) who is one of the world’s foremost authorities on structural security. He likes breaking out of ultra-secret, high-tech facilities to see where the flaw is. He is hired to test out the latest super prison nicknamed “The Tomb”. Deceived and wrongly imprisoned, he must recruit fellow inmate Emil Rottmayer (Schwarzenegger) to help devise a plan to escape the impossible prison they find themselves in. Thus action, quick one-liners, and old man fighting ensue.

What follows is a funny, action-packed flick with some crazy future ideas!

Come hear us try to understand this insane vision of the future – and why we see Stallone’s beanbag.  Read On
