Binary System Podcast #64: Happy (Geeky) New Year!

No new episode of Welcome To Night Vale this week. And the classic episode the Night Vale producers decided to air…isn’t one of our favorites.

SO, this week the twins decided to just kick back and talk about books they’ve finished, TV shows they’re watching, and some of the geeky Christmas presents we received. (Yes, our parents are still buying us comic books and Transformers toys. No, we don’t have a bit of shame about that.) Listen in as the conversation jumps from Mr. Robot to Sherlock (no spoilers) to Transformers with swords and why they’re so cool.

Review and Preview – Transformers: Lost Light #1

It’s finally here, the series that picks up where More Than Meets the Eye left off. Lost Light hits shelves tomorrow, but does it live up to the legacy MTMTE left behind? Better question: is the story as goofy and badass and complex with all the feels? Does it have the same jaw-droppingly gorgeous art?

(Yeah, I’ve set the bar kind of high. What can I say, I’m a fan.)

See below for preview pages and a spoiler-free review of Transformers: Lost Light #1.

Review & Preview – Transformers More Than Meets The Eye – Revolution 1

This is my favorite book in the entire Revolution event, hands down. Not only is the art fantastic and the writing brilliant, but it’s like they took all of my qualms about Revolution (lots of humans, franchises I didn’t follow) and said “Here. This is for you. You’ll like it.” And I did, I really really did.

See below for more spoiler-free jumping up and down about Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye – Revolution 1. Or skip the review and just buy the book. I promise I won’t be mad.

Binary System Podcast #57 – The Orbiting Human Circus (Of The Air) #1

Yes, we’re a little behind schedule; the second episode of “The Orbiting Human Circus (Of the Air) has already dropped, and we’ve only just now gotten around to watching the first one.

So how was it? It’s…interesting. There are things we liked about it, and things we definitely didn’t. After a quick recap, we talked a little bit about the current Transformers: Revolution storyline (which we did not like, and we’re definitely not happy about it.)

To round it out we talked about Sense8, Hannibal, The Descent, and Skottie Young’s delightfully disturbing I Hate Fairyland.

Preview and Review: Transformers More Than Meets The Eye #57

It’s here: in case you missed the announcement this summer, this week is the final, very last issue of Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye. And if you totally missed that announcement and are currently having a heart attack, you’ll be happy to hear that the book is being rebranded as Transformers: Lost Light starting in December – same crew, and James Roberts is still writing it.

Seriously though, do you need the defibrillator? Cause I’d be all over that. While you make up your mind, click the jump for preview pages and a (really really really spoiler-filled) review of Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye #57.
