2010 VGA’s: Naughty Dog Team on Uncharted Movie

What an interesting event the 2010 VGA Red Carpet was, especially considering that there was no red carpet at the event. The biggest highlight for me personally was getting to chat with the Naughty Dog team about all things Uncharted. With various rumors floating around about the casting of Drake for the upcoming Uncharted movie. Furthermore, we witnessed the release date and trailer for Uncharted 3 which led to a very emotional Tripod Podcast team. I figured it was time to ask the question on everyone’s mind. Full video interview after the break.

Why Video Game Awards Shows Are Not Taken Seriously

The 2010 video game popularity contest, also known as The Spike TV Video Game Awards are over. Some people took home awards, while others just sat and watched. But then again, did anyone really care to watch it? Video game awards are rarely taken seriously amongst gamers.  What matters with gamers is if they liked the game personally. Awards rarely persuade them to either buy or not buy a game.  What usually persuades a gamer’s opinion is either a word-of-mouth suggestion from a friend, a fair online review, or a game demo.

Awards shows and awards are mainly looked at as just another marketing tool used by marketing companies and this is what this year’s Spike TV VGAs felt like.

Most Legen-(wait for it)-dary Person, Neil Patrick Harris to host Spike’s VGAs

Neil Patrick Harris is one extraordinary – no scratch that – legendary man.  He has portrayed a boy genius doctor that may have invented the blog, helped two fellas grab a bite to eat at White Castle, and is currently sweeping women off their feet as a wildly hilarious gentleman (cough) named Barney.  This is all while juggling a very strong career as a Broadway artist.  Yes, this man can do it all.

Now, this Saturday, NPH will be hosting Spike’s Video Game Awards.  Pixelated Geek will be on the red carpet and live blogging the event. So stay tuned.

Full press release below.
