Throne of Geekdom – Lara Croft vs Castiel

Two champions meet on the battlefield of the Throne of Geekdom.  One holds high the banner for all Video Game fans the other carries every fan of TV and Movies on their back. Lara Croft has been an icon for years. Giving gamers more than a nice view Croft has proven herself time and time again that she can play just as tough as any boy. Now with a new invigoration by her latest release she may be at a new peak in his history.  Now in the Final Four he meets the unstoppable angel Castiel who has overcome some of the biggest odds to now be favorited as the lead contender for the Throne.

The only way to win is by Votes and Sharing.  Be sure to make sure you and your friends do both to get your favorite to win!

Throne of Geekdom – Lara Croft vs Keith David

After narrowly escaping defeat in Overtime against StarCraft’s Queen of Blades, Keith David has reached the Division Finals!  Here David has to face the Tomb Raider herself, Lara Croft.  Lara has made short work of her competition so far but these two contenders wouldn’t have made it this far if they weren’t both worthy of the title of Video Game Champion!

Only the fans will decide who will move on to the Final Four and then on to battle for the Throne of Geekdom!

Fan favorite Keith David has been making short work of his competition thus far in the Throne of Geekdom, but the resiliency of the Queen of Blades can’t be denied.  The Starcraft bad girl had made it this far for a reason, but will the fans of the RTS legend be able to rally and over throw the cult fandom that David carries everywhere he goes?

The plunger wielding plumber Luigi may be able to throw fire, but facing danger head on is what’s made Lara Croft one of the greatest heroines in video game history.  Unfortunately it’ll take more than a tanooki suit or big… guns, to win this match.  ONLY the character with the most passionate fans will be the one to move on to the Semi-Finals, and be one step closer to sitting on the Throne of Geekdom for 2014!

Sony Reveals PlayStation Now Streaming Service

Today Sony has finally revealed their plans for streaming video games.

At CES, Sony announced a new subscription service called PlayStation Now (PS Now). PS Now will offer subscribers the ability to stream “classic” playstation games to their Playstation 4, PS Vita, and other devices like phones, tablets, and televisions. At CES they have already shown The Last Of Us streamed through a PS Vita, demonstrating the capabilities of their streaming service that came from the purchase of Gaikai late last summer.

J.Bear’s Top 10 Video Games of 2013

The end of the year is finally upon us. It feels like just yesterday we were booting up copies of Telltale’s “The Walking Dead”, “Far Cry 3”, “Borderlands 2”, and “Mass Effect 3”. But here we are, 2013 is coming to a close.

This year has been one of the best year’s in gaming, not only were we treated to some of the best titles to ever come out for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. We also took our first steps into the next generation of consoles with the PS4 and Xbox One. Though technically, the WiiU is a part of the next generation of consoles, it, unfortunately, is still struggling.

But nevermind all of that! This is about 2013, and the games that came out during this amazing year. But before we get into the meat and potatoes, here’s a quick disclaimer:

Note: The games that appear on this list solely reflect my experiences with said games. This list is completely based on the games I’ve played this year. Games that I did not play, will not show up on this list. So if your personal favorite games don’t show up on here, thems’ the breaks.
