Class is in session when Charles Xavier and his young mutants hit Blu-ray and DVD, but will they pass the test or will they flunk this exam?
X-Men: First Class may of been out for a couple weeks already but that couldn’t stop our newest writer and I from getting together and gushing over James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender’s performances as Charles Xavier and Eric Lensherr. X-Men: First Class is nearly everything you would want in a film, from an almost a perfect cast to amazing story-telling and even blue and gold uniforms.
Enjoy as two long-time friends joke around and talk about their new favorite movie, X-Men: First Class.

Hello again friends! You know me. I’m Anthony Silva, loveable host of your favorite geek out podcast Comic Issues. I gotta tell you readers, sometimes it pays being a geek. This week every single book I read was awesome. Just about any book I read this week could have been a top pick, so it’s was a tough decision when it came to what I was gonna make my top pick for the week. It’s tough being me with all my glorious problems, but you knew that cause you’re pretty awesome.
((Warning, spoilers ahead))
I know I say it every week, but damn did I have a lot of fun reading comics this week. What a week it was too, I couldn’t get out of my shop with less than 10 books. Like last week, some big events have kicked off with Green Lantern and Ultimate Spider-man and I’m getting sucked right into them. Unfortunately I didn’t get my Batman Inc. #4 since my shop had a shipping problem, but look forward to my review next week. On the same page I got my Amazing Spider-man #656 this week so you’ll find my review for that book at the bottom.
And don’t forget to come back for this week’s Comic Issues Podcast. Andrew and I will talk about Anime Conji, and the gang will be talking about some of the new and old releases from both DC and Marvel’s animation departments.
Hello again kids and welcome back to Anthony’s Top Picks for 3/9/11. I, of course, am your own personal hero Anthony Silva of the geektastic podcast Comic Issues, and if you picked up your comics this week then I’m sure you were not disappointed, because I sure as hell wasn’t. It was a good week for comics as we got one step deeper into the alternate world of the X-Men in “Age of X”, Ultimate Spider-Man comes one issue closer to his death, and Batman comes face to face with angels.
Be warned, spoilers may be ahead.
Ever since the release of X-Men: The Last Stand, my opinion about the recent X-Men films has been quite negative. X-Men Origins: Wolverine didn’t help much either, so I’m understandably skeptical about X-Men: First Class. Yet, after watching the trailer, I can’t help but wonder if this will be the X-Men film that saves the franchise.
X-Men: First Class is currently filming and Fox has released new images from the movie.
The pictures show the main cast, including James McAvoy as Charles Xavier and Michael Fassbender as Magento. Also pictured are Emma Frost, Beast, Havok, Mystique and Banshee.
X-Men: First Class is set to be released June 3rd.
Mike Haggar from Final Fight and Phoenix (a.k.a Jean Grey from X-Men) have been announced for Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. With 15 February as the release date of this long-awaited title quickly approaching, Capcom had stacked up a total of 34 revealed characters! Capcom has provided several video introductions for the characters.
This week on the Podcast we get branded with some logo talk. Travel to OA for some Green Lantern News. Visit our favorite X-Chickens for some X-men Arcade News. Discover the joys of Flat Stanley. Rock out to some Blizz Con. Then have a discuss what Upcoming Video Games are we looking forward to.

This week is certainly Dragon-Tastic. Starting with the release of Dreamwork‘s How to Train Your Dragon on Blu Ray and DVD. Still in the Dragon theme it’s time to enter the lair with Dirk Daring as Dragon’s Lair Trilogy makes it’s journey to the Wii. Perhaps Dragons aren’t your thing well how about some Mutants with the release of Wolverine and the X-Men Complete Series on DVD and Blu Ray. In theaters it’s time for another 3-D journey this time with Jackass 3D. If you see anything that’s missing drop a comment or let us know what your looking forward to.
