Favorite Collectors’ Editions of 2010
As we reflect on the year 2010, I offer a list of what I think were the best Collectors’ Editions for the year.
Bioshock 2: Sadly it didn’t come with any Big Sister figures, but the soundtrack, vinyl record, and posters with hidden UV messages were a very nice touch. The price is reasonable.
Starcraft 2 Wings of Liberty: Best made thumb drive ever! The content is great: from behind the scenes to the soundtrack; it even includes a digital copy of the original Starcraft.
Halo Reach: Some people have dream catchers over their beds. For me, Noble Team watches over me as I sleep. The highly detailed statute is overkill. All the goodies are included for those hard core extended universe fans. This collectors’ edition is for the true fans.
Fall Out New Vegas: Great set of chips, a well weighted platinum token, and a pretty deck of cards. You are ready for your trip to New Vegas. Luckily the bullet hole in the head is not included. Also included is a graphic novel and behind-the-scenes DVD to keep you occupied.
Assassins Creed Brotherhood: Do you have a fear of clowns? This collector’s edition includes a Harlequin Jack-in- the-Box that is extremely terrifying, but not too solid. The behind-the-scenes DVD that gave a look into the upcoming comic series is very entertaining. Show your alliance to the brotherhood with this collector’s edition; just don’t let Templars see it.
Fable 3: If you ever wanted to hide your copy the DVD Striptease from your parents, look no further: the Fable 3 Collector’s Edition box is disguised as an old book with hidden compartments. It’s packed with a deck of cards, a guild seal, and exclusive DLC. This edition is a great keepsake for your shelf.
Mass Effect 2: Not only is Mass Effect 2 one of my favorite games from 2010, but the collector’s edition is simple and sweet as well. Included is the Cerberus network card, providing free DLC access.
God of War 3: The collector’s edition comes with a replica of Pandora’s Box from the franchise. Within, you can also find additional skins for your character, an exclusive soundtrack, and DLC. Pandora’s Box makes a nice coffee table conversation piece.
