It didn’t take long for programmers to get from making the Kinect open sourced to creating a real life version of Minority Report. In the video below, you’ll see that another programmer from MIT has made his Kinect learn where both palms are as well as track each of his ten fingers. This is a big step up from earlier versions of this technology with more expensive tools.
So, tracking bodies, palms, fingers, and genders: yup, we all know how this is going to end up in the near future.
