Twisted Pixel CEO and Developer Cry Foul on Capcom’s MaXplosion

Twisted Pixel’s CEO Michael Wilford and developer Mike Henry are speaking out against Capcom’s newest mobile game, MaXplosion, which released on iTunes last week.  They are stating that Capcom stole the idea for the game from their company.

Twisted Pixel is alleging that MaXplosion is a clear rip-off of their game, ‘Splosion Man.  You’d think if someone wanted to copy your work, they would at least try and make the name something that didn’t sound like the original.

Taking to his twitter account, Henry stated, “MaXplosion gameplay video makes me sad. If you’re going to outright steal a game, you should at least understand what makes it fun.”  Wilford has also stated that, adding insult to injury, Twisted Pixel even pitched the idea for ‘Splosion Man to Capcom once upon a time — and they turned it down!

Check out some of the games’ footage below.  I don’t know about you, but I can definitely see some very obvious similarities here.  Even the music and character noises sound almost the same!  What do you think?
