In a shocking turn of events, the Nintendo 3DS sold out pretty much instantly when it became available in Japan.
Customers began lining up at game stores often before midnight the night before the release of the 3DS, and most shops began announcing that they were sold out as early as 9:30 AM the morning of its launch. And in some cases, pre-ordering wouldn’t have helped – some stores warned in advance that they would be offering same-day sales only.
For fans that missed out this round, unfortunately no official news has been released about exactly when to expect more 3DSes in stock. But according to Andriasang.com (where you can also find more photos and details about the madness of launch day), more stock is “on the way.”
