iam8bit’s Fight Club featuring Marvel VS Capcom 3 and more

Last night, iam8bit hosted a Marvel VS Capcom 3 Fight Club at Club 740 in downtown Los Angeles. The event featured cosplayers, live performances, make-up artists providing guests with battle scars and of course, Marvel VS Capcom. Players had a chance to get their hands on MvC3 and try out over 30 different characters. Also featured was Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS. The event drew nearly a packed house full of MvC fans and we have the pictures to prove it.

Besides MVC3 and SSF IV, other games featured at the event were X-Men: Children of the Atom, Marvel Super Heroes, X-Men VS. Street Fighter, Marvel Super Heroes VS. Street Fighter, Marvel VS. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes, and Marvel VS. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes. The live entertainment featured Mega Ran, a hip-hop artist who incorporates music from video games into his tracks and a jazz ensemble playing video game tunes led by Miles Mosley, a self-proclaimed fighting game fan.

The club itself was filled to capacity, meaning time available to actually play MvC3 was quite limited. Though with everyone looking to try out MvC3, the basement area, which housed the gallery of Marvel VS games from years passed, ended up being a bit more spacious.

Overall, it was an entertaining event, especially thanks to Miles Mosley and his medley of Marvel and Capcom music. Pay attention, ladies and gentlemen. This is how you put on a gaming event.
