Today OnLive launched PlayPack, its flat-rate, pay-per-month video game plan. The plan offers 38 video games and costs $9.99 per month, with the first month offered free as a trial.
Steve Perlman, founder and CEO of OnLive, and John Spinale, the VP of Games and Media, both cite enormous consumer demand for all-you-can-play plans as inspiration for PlayPack. This is reflected in the vast popularity of services like Netflix, and already PlayPack has been well-received among OnLive customers. The company also plans to expand PlayPack’s available game library to include both well-known hits and great independent titles.
PlayPack’s featured games include F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin, LEGO® Batman™, and Unreal Tournament® 3, as well as many others. The plan can also be cancelled at any time, saving customer’s game data for one year after cancellation, allowing players to resume their progress where they left off should they choose to resubscribe.
