Spare Change: Marvel vs. Capcom3 Fate of Two Worlds- Special Edition

The Fate of Two Worlds is in your hands, but is it worth the extra ten dollars for the Collector’s Edition? The much awaited Marvel vs. Capcom3 Fate of Two Worlds (MvC3) was released on February 15, 2011,

It has been a decade since a Marvel Vs. Capcom title graced the home console. If you go for the Special Edition, what will be the fate of your ten extra dollars?

Capcom threw out the plastic case and decided to go with the Steelbook case instead. It is a well designed case, covered — inside and out – with an artist’s rendition of these brave fighters. You might want to bag and board the case itself! Inside there is a comic — art book. Containing a total of forty-eight pages, twelve are dedicated to the prologue comic and the rest feature artwork of the characters. The book is not comic book sized, but it looks like an actual Marvel comic book cover: a nice touch.

Also included is a redemption code for one month of Marvel Digital Comics. As a comic book collector, I suggest this might be advantageous for those dipping their feet into the comic book world or who might not have the time, funds, or patience for the physical comics. If you want an introduction to the world of digital comics, enjoy it with this feature.  In addition, there will be two DLC characters, Jill Valentine and Shuma-Gorath, which will be available in four weeks. The reason for the delay is not obvious at this point.

The MvC3 Special Edition leaves you wanting more. For the extra bucks, I would have liked to see more exclusivity with content or physical objects such as figurines. A die-hard fan of this franchise wouldn’t mind spending the extra ten dollars. But if you are not a serious fan than you might want to get the standard edition and save your ten dollars for comic books or the arcade.
