One of the great things about the Internet Age is its new and manifold ways to embarass yourself. A few moment’s inattention can be handily immortalized in moments.
Take this latest affair with Sony’s fictional VP-of-everything Kevin Butler. His official twitter seems to have accidentally retweeted the PS3’s USB Dongle ID generation key in response to an annoyed gamer’s challenge. For those of you who don’t know, this is used for circumventing the PS3’s security systems.
Of course, the code got pulled immediately, but Twitter user Exiva, Butler’s challenger, had a good laugh and has been cheerfully spreading the news ever since. The code used to be up on Butler’s Wikipedia article, but it got removed fast.
Thanks for the screenie, Exiva, and thanks to Playstrum for the header image.
