Ever since the release of X-Men: The Last Stand, my opinion about the recent X-Men films has been quite negative. X-Men Origins: Wolverine didn’t help much either, so I’m understandably skeptical about X-Men: First Class. Yet, after watching the trailer, I can’t help but wonder if this will be the X-Men film that saves the franchise.
With a story conceived by Bryan Singer, the director of X-Men and X2 — who is also serving as a producer of First Class — it’s hard not to be excited. Still, there’s only so much you can tell about a film from a few out-of-context scenes, so only time will tell if the movie will be any good.
X-Men: First Class hits theaters on June 3, 2011. While you wait, sit back and enjoy the trailer.
