Top 5 Games to get you through the Summer

Spring is here and a last bevy of games is on its way to get you through the historically dry summer months. Though most of the biggest names release in the fall and winter some big titles, including two new I.P.’s, are on their way before the summer officially begins. So here are my Top 5 Games to get you through the Summer.

5) Mortal Kombat

Mortal Kombat is looking to recapture some of that old magic by following Street Fighter’s lead and returning to a more classic feel. It aims to take gamers back to why they fell on love with such games in the first place: intense gore mixed with ridiculous characters. The new X-ray attacks lend a whole new level of brutal combat to the game.

4) Brink

Brink looks to shake up the first person shooter market by adding an element of parkour to their futuristic shooter. You play as either of two factions as the fight for control of the Ark, a man-made floating city that offers a safe haven in a world where global warming has ruined most of the planet. Instead of just shooting your way through the opposition, you must make use of your ability to fly over the battlefield, climbing around to get the best angles on the enemy.

3) inFamous 2

The first inFamous was a huge success that launched a very promising new franchise for Sony. Not content to rest on their laurels, Sucker Punch has pushed themselves to create a sequel that blows the first inFamous out of the water. A new setting, better melee, and some gorgeous visuals all make the sequel look extremely exciting.

2) Portal 2

Portal was the surprise treat on the Orange Box, delighting gamers with it’s fun and clever puzzles, as well as its dark sense of humor. The sequel is bigger and better, fleshing out the story to Valve’s quirky hit. Valve looks to make a more complete game than the first Portal by adding co-op to the mix. Plus you get to be a robot in the co-op. And everyone knows robots give you an additional four seconds before they betray you.

1) L.A. Noire

I have already talked about L.A. Noire enough. Go read this if you need a refresher. It is going to be amazing.
