Well, like the title says – Nintendo is finally moving into the HD era! Supposedly.
GameInformer broke the news this morning that Nintendo has been working on a new, powerful console set to launch in 2012. And when I say “powerful,” I mean more powerful than both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, according to Kotaku.
Rumors of this new console have been circulating the internet for months now, and while GameInformer considers these rumors to be “confirmed” as of today, Nintendo turned down Kotaku’s request for more information, saying that they “[do] not comment on rumor or speculation.” And GameInformer carefully avoided naming their sources, saying only that they have “heard from multiple sources” that the console will be unveiled at E3 2011.
Later, they again state that they “have confirmed with multiple sources” that the new console will be more powerful than any other current-gen system.
Yet above all, Nintendo itself still refuses to comment. Personally, I’ll be skeptical until I hear these rumors confirmed by Nintendo.
