Howdy beautiful readers! It’s Friday and that means I reckon it is time for another helping of never nutritious, yet always delicious, Friday Fix. The summer is almost over, and kids everywhere are heading back into school just as all the games that would have pass the time on those long summer days are about to drop. But enough about the ludicrously tilted game release schedule, you came here for news and doggone it I’m gonna get you some.
If you are new to The Fix it works very simply. First I recommend a band or song for you to listen to because hey, why not? Then I get in my personal news ‘copter and fly the dangerous skies of the pleekdom searching for the biggest news I can find. Got it? Good.
The band for this week is going to be the new Jay-Z and Kanye West collaboration. I know you have probably heard about it. That doesn’t mean I shouldn’t tell you about it again. It is amazing. Check out the video and watch closely. Why yes, that is Aziz Ansari from “Parks and Recreation” and Human Giant. I told you it was fantastic.

Now on to the news!
- If you like Portal, may I recommend this Portal short film? If you don’t like Portal what is wrong with you? Seriously, everybody loves that game. You should probably doubt everything you thought you knew about yourself.
- This is one fancy boom box. It’s really nice that this is BlueTooth. Is anything so universally agreed upon as being mildly annoying to deal with as cables?
- Your iPhone just got twenty times cooler. I want a see-through purple one of these bad boys. That was one purple thing that was cool for a twelve-year old boy to have. I learned the hard way that Barney didn’t count.
- Minecraft once again surprises and amazes. This time with a music video. And yes, James, I do believe the inspiration is Usher. Fun fact, who is the only artist other than The Beatles to have three top ten hits at the same time? Usher. Why do I know that? I am asking you. Please, why?
- James H. wants a little less monotony in his shooters. After a certain amount of time he realized there was more to a game than headshots. It took him twenty years to discover this. I remember the weeping.
- James T. puts on that hat of his to talk about geek culture and its saturation levels in popular culture. He also really hates “The Big Bang Theory.” I don’t think I could agree more. Laugh tracks? Laugh tracks? Come on.
That’s all for this week’s Fix. Be sure to check back next week for more of The Friday Fix!
