Keep your pulses racing with Deadline

In this fast paced sequel to Mira Grant’s amazing post-apocalyptic zombie thriller Feed, we continue the story of the crew of “The End Times,” faced with new developments. This amazing sequel picks up the plot where the first let off and delivers. From new intrigue and plot twists to the ever changing and evolving threat of zombie attacks, Deadline is a fast paced book that will not fail to astound you.

The plot of Deadline picks up more or less where the previous installment ends. Some time has passed, but the events of the climax of Feed are still fresh in everyone’s mind. Many of the core characters return in this sequel, yet some unfortunately are unable to return and it’s up to the surviving members to pull together and keep the website up and running to produce good, reliable news.

One of the biggest changes in the narrative of the story is Shaun’s movement to the forefront of the plot. This story really is about Sean and his personal character growth. This, of course, isn’t to say that Georgia isn’t integral to the plot as well; she still is very central and much of the story revolves around her. However, in this book, Shaun is the protagonist, and it’s his choices (some very reckless) that shape the rest of the narrative.

The zombie threat is still alive (pun noted) and thriving and as with all biological phenomena, is changing and evolving. It’s only getting worse and humanity, by the end of this book, has some pretty crazy stuff that they need to deal with if they ever want to stay alive on Earth. Things are mutating, and it’s not pretty.

All in all, Grant does not fail to keep this strength of the narrative going strong in Deadline. Political intrigue is still very important to the plot and the threads from the first just become more intertwined in the sequel. So go grab a copy and keep delving in to the fantastic world Grant has written for us!
