Welcome to the October 30 edition of e-SportsCenter! This week, the world of e-sports was a bit slow. Not wanting to deprive my readers of their usual fix, I present to you a very special BarCraft edition!
If you’re already an avid e-sports fan, the hope is that you’re already familiar with the concept of BarCraft. Or, better yet, you’ve participated in one. However, if you’ve recently discovered the fascinating world of televised competitive gaming, hopefully the following video will make things a little more clearer for you.

I had the great privilege of attending a BarCraft event in Seattle during this past PAX, where I got to meet and chat with djWHEAT for a few minutes. And even though he might not be able to make it to every event (read: he’s not coming to Columbus), BarCraft is still a great way for new e-sports fans to really get into the scene, and for existing fans to meet and mingle with their peers. It’s really a unique sense of camaraderie, sitting aside a fellow gamer and cheering on your favorite StarCraft II player. Even though I personally don’t like physical sports, e-sports have really helped me see the appeal.
Does all this sound fun? Then go set up your own BarCraft! If you need help, you can visit http://www.reddit.com/r/barcraft to find a list of existing BarCraft events, or for more advice on how to start one in your area.
