Well, it’s official. The Blizzard site has set Diablo III‘s release date as May 15, 2012.
Digital preorders and downloads are already available, and World of Warcraft players who want to get in on the action free can do so on the Annual Pass until 12:00 A.M PDT on May 1st. Retail copies will be available on the 15th – obviously, digital copies won’t be playable until then.
The release date applies to customers in the United States, Canada, Europe, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and the regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. Gamers in Mexico, Argentina, Chile, and Brazil will be able to purchase digital copies, but they’ll have to wait with their Russian counterparts until June 7th.
