1. Dead Space 3 looks like exactly what we expected. Nasty, gorgeous, hyper-violent, and tons of fun.
2. Crysis 3 is also exactly what you expect. Flat-out gorgeous, visceral, and again, tons of fun.
3. Criterion’s Need for Speed: Most Wanted looks like Burnout. Precisely what it needs to be: fast, clean, and beautiful.
4. EA is focusing on their sports market. This is not a surprise, but it shouldn’t be. Madden and FIFA are industry titans.
5. Battlefield 3‘s Premium service is exactly what you were scared it would be. It’s Call of Battlefield Premium Elite. Ick.
6. Medal of Honor: Warfighter is this year’s Battlefield. It’s beautiful and the destruction physics are flawless. The multiplayer looks to be mixing it up with factional warfare.
7. THQ’s monopoly on UFC looks to be over. EA may have bought themselves another license to print money.
8. Maxis, while apparently livid at Zynga, is still cranking out sexy SimCity goodness. The Facebook Simcity title looks really clean, and SimCity reboot is what we’ve been waiting for.
9. Bioware’s presentation for Star Wars: The Old Republic can be summed up as follows: Please play our game. Please come back. Please. We’ve got content. We swear. Please come back. All content shown was a rehash of what has already been released or announced. Not much of a hype-builder.
10. A resounding ‘Eh’. No new titles, very little in the way of new information, and no major reveals. Low year.
