The Dark Knight Returns – Trailer

Throughout Batman’s long history a handful of stories are considered pivotal and influential, such as “The Killing Joke”, “The Long Halloween”, and the “Knightfall” series.  However, Frank Miller’s “The Dark Knight Returns” may stand head and shoulders above them all.

First released in February of 1986, “The Dark Knight Returns” was a critically acclaimed story looking at Batman and Gotham years after The Bat had retired. Now an aging recluse, Bruce is pulled back into action by the return of old enemies and then quickly met by new foes.

Peter Weller (Robocop), as previously reported, has been cast as the elderly Bat, along with Ariel Winters (Modern Family) as Robin/Carrie Kelley, Wade Williams (Prison Break) as Two-Face/Harvey Dent, Michael McKean as Dr. Wolper, and David Selby (of the original Dark Shadows soap) rounds out an amazing cast we finally get to see in action today, as MTV Geek has the exclusive first trailer for  The Dark Knight Returns Part 1.
