A long a dark shadow was cast over E3 this year, cast by the failure of Xbox One and comparative success of PS4. It appeared as if a game wasn’t associated with either system wasn’t worth knowing. This let a lot of really fun upcoming games slip under the radar and go largely un-noticed at the convention. Gaming legends Nintendo has several games that went by with hardly a second glance from con goers, but they’ll be kicking themselves later when New Super Luigi U sneaks by them this summer.
Following in his big brother’s footsteps and the success of New Super Mario Bros. this semi-sequel gives Luigi the spotlight as he leads the game with familiar mechanics with new twists. Fans of the Mario series will know that Luigi has always played differently than the other characters. With the ability to jump higher and slide across terrains in his slick shoes, Luigi has his own levels to traverse with the help of some of the mushroom kingdom’s new subjects.
If you’ve already purchased the New Super Mario Bros. then the 82 new levels of Luigi’s solo adventures is now available for early download through Mario Bros. U for only $20! Well worth the price of admission! This game has all the fun of its predecessor with every frustratingly fun aspect that turns friends into enemies and families into enraged monsters.
