With filming wrapped for the eighth and final season, the cast and producers of Showtime’s Dexter gathered in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con to bid farewell to the fans.
Attending the panel were stars Aimee Garcia, Desmond Harrington, David Zayas, Yvonne Strahovski, Lauren Vélez, Erik King, Julie Benz, Jennifer Carpenter, and, of course, Dexter himself, Michael C. Hall. Also present were executive producers John Goldwyn, Sara Colleton, Scott Buck, and Manny Coto.
One of the questions answered by the cast was “What props from the set did you take with you after the last episode filmed?”
Michael C. Hall took Dexter’s watch, his lanyard ID, a section of the railing outside his apartment, and would have liked one of the blood-spatter images from his office but Carpenter got to those first. Harrington took the (admittedly fake) gold Quinn always wore, while Strahovski took the black orchid. The clean-shaven Zayas showed off Angel’s signature hat to a cheering audience, and joked that he’d had to trade his goatee for it.
Several of the cast members were a little tearful during the panel, and Michael C. Hall made a point to thank the fans present, many of whom had camped outside for a chance to attend. “Just as you all waited in line, and are here for us, we have been here for you and we are here because of you.”
