After a month-long delay, the Pokémon Bank is finally available on the Nintendo eStore.
The Bank allows players to store up to 3,000 Pokémon online -essentially a pocket monster storage unit – and even move them between Pokémon X and Y. Until March 14 the app is free to download. After that a modest $4.99 annual subscription fee will apply.
The Bank was supposed to have been released two days before Christmas, but Nintendo suffered a power outage that put all of their online services on hold indefinitely. Even with the Bank up and running, the planned Pokémon Transporter, which would allow players to move their collections from Pokémon Black and White and Pokémon Black and White 2, is still MIA.
There is still no word on when that will become available.
