In a recent press release, Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. announced their plans for Gamescom 2014 in Cologne, Germany. Gamescom is the largest European gaming convention that is open to the public, steadily rising to be even bigger than E3. KONAMI Uses Europe’s Largest Gaming Event to Showcase New METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN Footage, First Playable PES 2015 Reveal and More
Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. announced it will use this year’s gamescom event to showcase new advances in its METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN and PES 2015 titles, with the ever-popular Yu-Gi-Oh! range also on display. Konami will demonstrate all three properties in its booth (Hall 7.1) via special presentations and hands-on demos.Due to the sheer scale of its content and huge open-world environments, METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN will be shown in an all-new gameplay presentation. A dedicated theater will be used to show key aspects of Hideo Kojima’s latest opus. The 25-minute presentation offers a tantalizing glimpse of the unlimited ways of infiltrating that the new title offers, as Snake picks his way through one of the game’s desert-based locales. In honor of the game’s inhospitable environments, KONAMI will also project a vivid desert vista on the side of the theater, which turns from day to night, as seen in the game.KONAMI will also host a special evening event at Cologne’s Musical Dome venue. Series creator Hideo Kojima will appear on stage at the 1,600-seat auditorium to give a presentation of METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN in an evening that promises to answer questions and offer a few surprises. Doors will open for this adult-only event at 6:30 p.m. on August 13. Deluxe seats will also be given away through various competitions, and KONAMI will ensure seats are available to interested parties on the night.PES 2015 will mark its first public appearance in a number of kiosks showing the PlayStation®4 version of the FOX Engine-powered game on display, showcasing a playable version of the latest build. PES 2015 is being promoted via the line ‘the pitch is ours’ in honor of a new focus on restoring key PES values to the series. Thus, gamescom will be a chance for players to experience the responsiveness, intricate play, and new shooting and goalkeeping systems, along with the PES ID systems that ensure the available teams both look and play like their real-life counterparts.As part of its introduction to the PES Virtual UEFA Champions League, KONAMI will also be inviting players to try the official Online League in a dedicated area. All registered or new players that sign up will be invited to take part in short offline tournaments played on PES 2015 during the five-day show.KONAMI will also use the show to promote other mobile titles, such as PES Manager, and the famed iDROID App that allows players to sync their mobile devices with the best-selling METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES.KONAMI´s booth is located in Hall 7.1 A030/A031. For those of you who didn’t want to read that wall of text here’s the rundown:
- Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be shown in a dedicated theater in order to showcase an all-new gameplay presentation.
- The MGSV:TPP presentation will be 25 minutes long, and will offer glimpses of the many ways you can approach the new title.
- The theater itself will have a desert landscape projected on the walls and will cycle through day and night as it does in the game.
- There will be a second event for MGSV:TPP in Cologne’s Musical Dome.
- Hideo Kojima will answer a few questions about the new game and “offer a few surprises”.
- It’s an adult-only event, doors open at 6:30pm on August 13th.
- A playable version of PES 2015 will be on the show floor running on the PS4.
- PES 2015 runs on the FOX engine and boasts that the players and teams look and play like their real life counter-parts.
- There will be a PES 2015 tournament during all five-days of Gamescom.
- Finally, Konami will promote their mobile apps PES Manager and iDROID, for PES 2015 and Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes respectively
