LEGO lovers are rejoicing with the announcement that LEGO will finally be joining the NFC chip toy race with the new game LEGO Dimensions. They are now along side Activision’s Skylanders, amiibo by Nintendo, and Disney’s Disney Infinity.
LEGO announced that the U.S. launch date is set for September 27, 2015 as well as September 29, 2015 for their Europe launch. It will be available for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, and Wii U. The greatly anticipated LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack will have everything you need to begin your adventure! The price of the Starter Pack will be $99.99 and is available for pre-order.

Included in the LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack:
- LEGO Dimensions videogame
- LEGO Toy Pad
- Bricks for building the LEGO Gateway
- 3 LEGO minifigures (Batman, Gandalf, and Wyldstyle)
- Last but most certainly not least, the LEGO Batmobile vehicle.
In addition to the starter pack, LEGO has expansion packs that can be purchased at an additional cost that range from $14.99 to $29.99 and they are split into three categories; fun packs, team packs, and level packs. The three different type of packs will bring new buildable characters, vehicles, tools, gadgets, levels, and additional in-game abilities.

With the wide variety of characters already announced it has raised some questions about the type of characters that are to come in the future. With Disney’s Disney Infinity there is an unlikelihood of seeing Marvel characters in LEGO Dimensions. This will possibly give DC characters their chance to shine. Fans are already requesting Harry Potter characters, The Simpsons characters, Ghostbusters, Doctor Who characters, LEGO City characters, and even Scooby Doo characters.
