The subscription box seems to be all the rage these days. Probably most notably, Loot Crate has brought it to the attention of geeks world wide, but in their wake Nerd Block has taken the same formula and expanded upon it. With the success of several other companies delivering their goods to your door you can now get razors and shaving supplies, beauty care supplies, e-liquids, dinner, snacks for your pets, and even fresh underwear. It’d be weird if it wasn’t so common.
Well count Marvel Comics in on the monthly box subscription game as this month they released their first in a series of bi-monthly collector boxes filled with that sweet, sweet Marvel goodness that geeks have come to know and love. If you didn’t know that there was even a box to be had, don’t worry, most people didn’t, but Anthony & Ashley of Two Geeks and a Podcast are here with their first unboxing video to show you whether or not the box is worth the cost.
Inside every Marvel Collector Corps. box subscribers can expect 1-2 items that are 100% exclusive to MCC subscribers, along with other goodies, all in a $50 valued box. The bi-monthly cost of such marvelous collectables is $25, which is significantly higher per box than the Loot Crates and Nerd Blocks which start at $13.99 and scale down for those who buy their boxes in bulk. Whether or not the additional price is worth it is mostly subjective, but it does create a big need for Marvel to impress with their first box and keep impressing with each box after.
